Default Quickie with a bike tonight

I was turning right, and I saw him at the light about to get in behind me. I slowed up a lil, and he got beside me pacing me doing about 40. I opened the cutout and downshifted to let him know I was game. 1st run he gave me the hit, and I pulled a 1/2 car to a car length instantly and it stayed that way till about 90. Second run, I gave him the hit, and I kept him on my right front fender the whole time till 90-100 again. I don't know what kind of bike it was, couldn't have been more than a 600 I am sure. It had dual tailpipes, and looked to be newer. He flipped his visor up and was pumping his fist like he was all excited and gave me a thumbs up. I returned the gesture, closed my cutout and went on my merry way. I was pretty damn surprised to say the least, I knew I could keep up with a 600, but not actually beat one.

nice run man, with those type of numbers you should be able to beat a 600, especially if you guys went from like a 60 or 70 roll.

yeah, as long as you can run about 11.0's at 125+, you should be able to hang with a new 600.....

If it was a newer 600, then you beat the rider, but a kill none the less.

I dont think hes running 11.0 and he sure isnt trapping 125 with his mods and he still gave the bike a run.

Anyway good race, it feels good to beat a bike.

Yea, I don't think I am even close to an 11.0 @ 125, I would prob trap a good 120 possibly. Never been to the 1/4, trapped 92 in the 1/8 this past summer, so who knows.

i was meaning a older one and not from a dig but from a roll. i know the newer ones as faster. from what ive seen the 600's dont have the best top ends. i could be wrong, just from what my friends have said with their bikes.

Dual exhaust? Not too many 600s with that set-up... Maybe an older ZX-6E? Anyways, running with bikes is always fun...win or lose.

There is not a new super sport 600 on the market today with dual exhaust. They all are either under tail, or short side mount.

Was the exhaust a dual low mount setup if you had a chance to see.

If it was a ZX6E then they are more of a sport touring bike, they only make 95 motor hp and run high to mid 12's.

Exactly....

ANY 2004+ 600 sport bike would have raped the car in question (poster) at any speed. My Camaro will beat 95% of the cars on this site and I can beat 600's, and 750's, but not many if any of the 1000+ bikes out there. Hell, a new 636 will run mid to low 10's stock with a good rider at about 130.

People should get excited about bike kills, I know I do! But be realistic, if you car runs 11's, 12's, or slower, your not getting any piece of any newer sport bike unless the rider is just horrible. Better be packing a 10 second car to mess with the sport bike crowd!

See thats where I see both sides of the fence as well. I ahve the Bird in the garage and both a 600cc and 1000cc Ninja. I know there is not many cars that touch my ZX10R. I got to tangle with a Ferrari awhile back, dude had his lady in the car with a smirk on his face. I left him sitting as I think he honestly thought he would win. I raced a 500rwhp cobra with my wife on back. A quick little 120mph run from second and walked him pretty easily as well.

I have rode my buddies ZX6R that is in my garage several times. It is quick and will out run most cars, but it is not unlikely that a car cant outrun a 600cc bike. With the 600's it is more about using the correct gear. if they are off by one gear, say they are in 3rd instead of 2nd it makes a world of difference in the outcome of the race.

I ran a 2002 ZX6E two years ago from a 40mph dig, him in first me in second. Lets just say he was surprised by the outcome as by the time I was in third I had three cars on him.

I like reading about the car/bike races but a mojorit of the time the car people dont know what they are racing, just because it has full fairing they think it is a current supersport bike and that is not always the case. A SV650S looks like a sport bike, but it is a 650 twin that makes a whopping 80ish hp and is slow as a dog.

Nice run, one of these days I am going to get some run with a camera and just see how well/bad a 600cc and 1000cc bike do against a stout car. My friend has a 500+ rwhp cobra that I ride with, I am sure he would be happy to play along with this as well.

actually ive got a SV650s and stock right off the show room floor it ran a 7.52 in the 1/8 and i outran a gsxr 600 that pass also. busa out there were running 6.9s id like to say that the SV650s's are not slow they are full of torque but upper end power ya they are sluggish but 0-60 cant hang with it!!

Yea, like I said, not really sure what it was, and it def. wasn't more than a 600. The tailpipes were up higher, and on each side of the rear of the bike. Something like this
o-I-o. Thats about all I can really tell you. Sorry, not really a bike guy.

well you can put duals on any bike you want, they could have just been an aftermarket setup.
