Default Raced an Srt-4 yesterday

It was a random race, he just kinda cruised next to me and then we both downshifted and hit it. It was about 40-70. We were both even the entire time. I reved it all the way in 2nd, and then let off because I knew there was a cop up ahead.

Do you guys think the thing was stock or modded? The guy turned off to another road so I didn't get to ask him if he had anything done to it.

Either way, lots of fun

I went to the track and my bud Joe was next to me with his Neon SRT4 for our last run. He's slightly modded and ran a 14.4 to my 13.1.

I would say it's stock. Most of the even slightly modded ones my friend has raced (I was with) we lost to in his stock '94 Corvette M6. I mean lost quite bad, not just by a nose lol

He knows how to shift quite well. I'd be willing to put him up against anyone here to be honest.

it was definitely stock because SRT4s are brutal from a 40 roll

my buddy has one which he just blew up by the way (haha) anyway he would spike 27 psi and drop back down to about 18 psi or so all with a stock turbo he would usually trap about 115 at the track

off the subject:
i was with him when he blew it up he got on it in 2nd gear and it blew up real nice when we followed the oil trail back to where it blew we found a couple main bearing caps and a chunck of his block its safe to say he needs a new shortblock haha

im not talking about racing my friend....im saying stock srt-4s are slow and ive beet my other friends srt with a front mount boost controller (18 PSI) intake and down pipe by 3 cars from a dig the cars suck unless they are raced from a roll unless you get traction and do alot to them they are not really THAT fast

and you would have to be crazy to race bill with the fast srt he will beat almost anyone on the street

if 14.1 is fast then damn there must be alot of fast cars on these forums

I raced one with exhaust/intake/boost controller boosting 25lbs and a few other mods and still beat it 4 out of 5 on a back road. Wheel hop is a bitch in those cars!

Agreed. I'm going to say it was stock. I know the very mildly modded ones can put down some decent power. On a dyno day I organized a 'Stage II' skittle put down about 270 to the wheels.

It was trapping about 108 at the track. Those cars definately aren't a joke from a roll. I was only trapping 106 on motor with my cammed car -- definately need the bottle for the modded skittles.

He has a couple hp mods, like the CAI, and tune, the tB airfoil and 160 t-stat are maybe 2-3 hp.

Bone stock SRT4's run 14's, this is from a stop, a race from a roll, they are light and run a decent mph, I want to say 103-104.

this is the stockest dyno ive seen, he had a drop in filter (prob K&N)

Fast on the track and fast on the street are two different things. E.Ts don't mean much on the street.
