Default Had some fun out on the bypass... 3.4 camaro vs an old Maxima (i think)

I was on my way home with a friend, stopped at a big intersection and a beater looking, yellow colored Maxima pulled next to me. When we get moving he's just doing little accelerations and such. And when we got on the main bypass, I said "ok lets see how this turns out." So he guns it and I do the same at about 65mph, to my surprize he's pulling ahead, not very fast but steadilly pulling farther away, I think he was up to 120mph by the time I got up to 105mph. We did like 3 or 4 runs and everytime he won. I know this would be a pretty boring race to you guys

So I ended the fun by just giving up and give him the thumbs up even though the Maxima was a POS. I think a 3.8 v6 would easily take that car. It looked like a early 90's Nissan Maxima, I didnt see anything aftermarket on it except the performance looking wheels. Didn't even see aftermarket guages inside!

Do I care about losing? No, I was just having fun. Kinda wish I didn't rush to find an f-body and end up with a 3.4 I know the engine's got good potential with the right mods, but I think I'll just hold off on any mods and wait to get an LS1.

Tonight, their was alot of wild driving kids out their though in their POS cars and some in their lifted trucks This was the second time I'v ever raced anyone in almost 2 years of driving the camaro, first race was against a Neon, which I killed.

Well like I said, I know a 3.8 v6 would've defanetly beat the Maxima. A TPI, LT1, and LS1? That wouldn't really be a competition at all

Don't waste your money on this camaro. Wait until you get LS1 and start modding it!!!

the 3.4's react real well to turbo's. If i remember correctly, they are a better forced induction motor then the 3.8. Tiago was making almost 400rwhp out of his 3.4 on i believe 15 psi on a stock motor...

i know how you feel i had a 3.4 and it was slow as *****

Yeah I used to have a 98 3.8 and my friend had a 91 maxima and we would race all the time. The problem was when we got past 120 or so he would blow by me because of the speed limiter.

I beat a 95-98 or whatever Maxima once. With the GF in the car. Haha.
