My buddy has a bone stock 03 Mach 1 5sp and I have a 01 Vette M6 w/ corsa cat back. We raced from 40mph, I jumped him by a car and never looked back. We raced from 40-120. I had him by about 2 cars at the end. He's got parts on order.....

Are you sure he's stock???My auto 2.73 geared c5 ate the stock mach1's by ATLEASTE 3-4 cars in that same senario..Id think a manual c5 would put an easy 5 cars on a mach1 from those speeds..

DID YOU TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL???

What gear were you in and at what rpm? Just trying to figure out your guys gearing.
At 40 and 2nd gear for the Mach is right about 3500rpm just for reference with stock gears.

Edit: Targa, go to silver springs for me. I kinda grew up on the Okla river.

I don't know, that sounds about right for me. F-body LS1 and Mach1s are pretty close to even, with the F-bod usually getting the nod at higher MPH. The poster basically has a stock C5 (just a cat-back and that is not going to make that much of a difference on a C5) and they let off at 120. 2-3 cars would be about right, but for sure (with the weight and aerodynamics of the vette) if they had taken it farther than 120 the 'Vette would have started putting some more lengths on him.

Those Mach1s are mean if the guy behind the wheel can row gears. 3.55 gears and much lighter weight than a Cobra.

I ran a mach 1 and had him buy 2 car lengths at 100, with a 98 formula 6spd with bolt ons and 157,000 highway miles. Could have been the driver but it did not seem like a very fast car.

Mine was a Joke too, don't you see the devil smile.. I just haven't taken my car out anytime soon to bust some people's *** and I figured it would be a good time to do so.. If you are ever in the DFW area look me up.. I'll run ya motor to motor or bottle to bottle..

The DOHC 4.6 is definitely MUCH better than the SOHC in the GT's. Nice kill to the OP Mach 1's are definitely nice cars, and have pretty good gearing in stock form. They don't seem to have quite the top end of the LS1, but I see a lot of people pulling better 60' times.

hell yeah, before there was such a car, i was gonna drop a 4 cammer in my 01 GT which happened to have 3.55s in it (long, expensive story). I guess it would have been a pretty tough customer, from a light to light stand point...I think I would have caught more then a few folks with their pants down
