The 1st race i lit up the tires breakboosting, had to ease up and got pulled.
the 2nd and 3rd race I pulled him about the same (I don't know why he didn't put the third race in there.)
4 race was from a 1st gear roll and i missed 2nd.
The guy filming was the mustang guys friend ( i don't know why they didn't post the 3 race that i pulled him)
Anyway both of my loses were my own mistakes. HOpe that helps explain the inconsistancy.

Thanx for the props.
The Cobra dynoed 604hp on 104 octane on i think 22psi His #s are on the low side for a KB but that is because when he went to tune the tuner brought the wrong pulley. As a result they were running to much boost(hence the 104 octane) and they had to pull a LOT of timing ( hence the low 600hp numbers)
My FD was street tuned for 17psi. I went to the dyno and put down 417hp @ only 16psi. It was about 105 in the dyno shop when I made my pulls and I didn't wanna push it too hard. For these races I was running 17 psi And it was a nice cold night so my car felt a lot stronger. I'd like to re-dyno but I don't wanna go back untill i can run 20+ psi and that might be a while
That night was nice and cold and My turbo was loving it. (I'm sure his KB didn't mind either ) I didn't have a passenger but the cobra driver had a 250 lbs passenger recording the races.
He pulled me once when I lit up the tires trying to BB. then I pulled him twice in a row after that. The camera guy got out of the car for the fourth race to try to even up the weight advantage. But It didn't matter because I missed second gear on the last run anyways.

How does your RX-7 hold up at those power levels? I had a buddy that was originally from Texas that had one close to that level, and it seemed like every time I turned around, it was in the shop for something motor-related. I actually only saw it on the road twice in the couple years I knew him...

It's holding up fine. I rebuilt the motor almost a year ago and that is when I upgraded the turbos fuel etc. I don't daily drive the car but when i do take it out on weekends i drive the **** out of it. The key is not only having good quility parts when building it but making sure you have a good tune, and of course keep up with the regular maintanence. Turbo rotary engines are just not high mileage engines, plain and simple. High powered ones have an even shorter life expectancy. But the majority of broken down rx7s are do to user error. And these things have a VERY small margin for error. lol
BTW That SS in your Sig is VERY nice I don't see many fbodies around my area that run a tire with a profile as low as yours. Do you get decent traction still or are you set up for better handling?
