Default bolt-on '01 Mustang GT 5spd vs. new Jaguar XJR (with Cliff's notes)

Not exactly a race, but figured I'd put it out there. I'm pulling up to the stoplight that exits my neighborhood, and I am come up next to what looks to be a brand new Jag XJR, with two guys in the late 50s/early 60s. Now, I love these cars, and I know exactly what they can do, so I was checking the car out, and I'm pretty sure the guy driving saw me looking at his car. Now, the stoplight is a 90 degree left turn (2 left turn lanes), and then it goes to 1 lane in less than an 1/8 of a mile. Well I wanted to see this car go, but I knew I had no chance of getting in front of him if he didn't want to let me. They're about the speed of the average automatic 01-02 LS1 F-body, but the powerband is softer at the bottom, they have great traction control, and weigh about 4,000lbs. Now normally, those wouldn't add up to a great launch, but it was 45 degrees, and the street we were turning onto was the "slick" kind of pavement (if ya'll know what I'm talking about), so that just meant he got WAY better traction than I did. Light turns green, we both ease onto that street, I get on it in 1st, and my 200 treadwear tires (rock solid when it's below 50 degrees) let loose pretty hard, so I have to back off, and apparently he had decided that he wasn't gonna let me get in front of him... which means he was passing me as soon as I let off... so I just go easy, and purposely don't try to put up a fight in vain. Last thing I wanna do is go sliding into somebody's car, especially when it's not a REAL race. So I follow (one lane road) for about 2 miles, and when the time comes for my turn, I give a big thumbs up to him, which he returns, and we go about our merry way. Sorry for the long-*** story.

Cliffs Notes: Raced a Jag XJR driven by a semi-old guy that I knew was gonna beat me solidly, got beaten solidly, and then exchanged thumbs up.

Nitrous might come later... next performance mods will be a Typhoon intake manifold, UDPs, 4.10s, and a tune. Those mods will tide me over till I either decide to do ported heads/cams, or some sort of FI.

Cool story, those Jags are nice *** car. What type of FI are you considering? If your gonna go SC, take it from me, stay away from centri chargers, I have a Vortech and everyday I wish that it was a Kennebell. They are more expensive but alot better IMO. Or just say *** them both and go Turbo.

Turbo is my first choice... if I REALLY decide to go for it, my friend (Mach1) is gonna help me piece together a home-built turbo kit.

that Typhoon intake is crap. MM&FF i think tested it a while back, it made like 3 hp more than stock at 6300, which your car wont rev to anyways. it lost power til over 5500 i think.

my car will be going back on a 100-125 shot soon.

Well maybe my exhaust setup will help me out . I saw a test where it gained 7rwhp on a completely stock cars, so I'll do a little research and see what I come across. I won't be getting it any time soon, so I got some time.

Well, I suppose I'll keep my eye out for new products... only way I'd get a Bullit intake is if I could find a used one, cuz those things are EXPENSIVE.
