Default I got killed

So, i'm rolling through traffic and I see this maroon Camaro has pulled onto the road, so I get up next to him and rev a couple times, just to let him know i'm there. At the next stoplight, we're lined up, two clear lanes....awesome. His car sounded a bit wicked, but I though maybe it was just a mean exhaust or a cammed 6(He had the Z28 badges removed). I never even looked over, but I knew it was on. The green light pops and we go. Wow, about 2 seconds into the race it was over, and I got pulled...hard. I let off around 55, but he was prolly doing around 80. He seriously had about 12 cars on me. At the next light I had a chat with him, turns out, he's full bolt-ons with a Futral cam, similar to the specs of the cam I have waiting to go in(230/232 .595 .598 114 LSA). All I have is a lid and catback. Real nice guy though, and a hell of a sleeper. It was a humbling experience, my first death...what do you guys think.

Your stock pretty much, you had no chance against the cammed car. Good loss.

Yeah, that race made me antsy about getting my mods done. When I consider how fast my car already is, and how bad I got pulled by a non FI cam only car, I get excited about my car's potential. BTW, it was a total sleeper till I saw his plates as he flew past me LS1 SNDS.

This kind of thing makes me glad I don't really race my car. The way I look at it, if I never race, I'll always be undefeated!

^^^Yeah, but you get one hell of an adrenaline rush when you race, especially on the streets, cause it's not legal.

No doubt. And since his plates we're LS1 SNDS, he's prolly on this site somewhere. I wonder if he had a stall... wish I woulda asked.

Until you have more mods, its not your last death but just be safe abd have fun. EVERY LS1 is going to need a good set of heads and a cam and FULL bolt on's (and more ) to compete these days with all these killer cars from the factory.

LOL, that was me all right. I had a Vigilante TC in there too with LTs, ORY, dual/dual catback with an electric cutout, and the FM13 cam. Was I running the cutout closed when we met? Was it on the stock 5 star wheels or the Prostars? Either way, I was more than likely running Mickey Thompson drag radials too.

I have a black Z28 now with the same plates.

The best time with it was a 12.08 @ 112, but the Vigilante converter I had in it was way too small. It was supposedly a Vig 3200 but only flashed to around 3000 RPM at the track, and the best 60' was a 1.73.

My 2002 has less stuff done, but is both quicker AND faster.
