I was driving down XX FWY today and all the sudden I see a 05+ Saleen mustang behind me with a 281 Badges on it. I let him pull besides me and we both rev at each other. He starts slowing down and I do the same, He starts motioning to me "Like Why wont you go?" And I'm like thinking we can at least slow down to at least 50 MPH and let the cars in front of us get a little farther ahead of us, I motion for him to "hold on" but he all the sudden punches it and gets a car and a half ahead of me, I punch it too and start to stop his pull and real him in. I run though a couple of gears and manage to put a few cars on him. He then pulls up to me and says WTF was that? him shaking his head side to side" Like he's saying no way" and then waving me off. I give him a thumbs up anyway and go about my business.
BTW I was not spraying.

I start slowing down and he does the same, I start motioning to him "what are you doing? Move!" And then he motions to me to "hold on" I have no idea what he's doing so all the sudden I punche it and get a car and a half ahead of him. Now he punches it too and start to real in. He seems to run though a couple of gears and I decide to slow down because I don't pull this stuff on public roads.I then pull up to him and say WTF was that? I'm shaking my head side to side" Like saying "whats wrong with you" and then wave me off, (I didn;t want to give him the finger). He gives me thumbs up anyway and I go about my buisness.
BTW I was not half on the gas.

Nice Kill! I love those Saleens!... They're not that fast though. They only have 30 more HP than a stock GT. The outcome wasn't surprising at all. Nice Kill though.

Oh god don't get me started. Just last week I pulled up next to a guy with a brand new SC saleen. I rolled down my window and honked at him.... I just wanted to tell him how beautiful his car was. He looked at me.... then looked at my car... gave me an "as if" look and then looked straight ahead. I honked at him again... but he wouldn't even look at me anymore.

I was breaking in my motor so I couldn't race him if I wanted to..... ahhh man I was sooo pissed!!! He just dismissed me like his car is just way outta my league. Looks wise... It is outta my league.... but little does he know that I would rape his ***. Oh damn I was soooo pissed. I swear I hope I run into his *** again.

If he was near stock I wouldnt think you would have a problem taking him down with no spray...Arent the S/C 281s a little slower than 03/04 Cobra's? or am I getting them confused with the Stg. 3 Roush's...either way nice kill

I just looked at the site www.Saleen.com and found the SC version is putting out 460 HP. I'm kinda surprised I did so well with me having a guesstimate of only ~30 to 40 HP more. The extreme version would have smoked me I'm shure If I didn't spray. Anyway,..Thanks for the replies guy's and cute witty gal's.

I work right around the corner from Saleen and not 2 days go by without me seeing one. The little ****** that drive them, taking them for baths before selling them to some sucker always have this, "Don't bother, I'd smack you" look on their faces.

This cracks me up as I've NEVER had a problem beating the crap out of them, even with my bolt-on LS1 daily driver. They may look nice, but they're heavy as hell and even pushing 400hp+, can't compete with a slightly modd'd LS1 or H/C LT1, let alone the cars they seem to think they're in league with.

Also, if a guy with a silver Saleen with the plate "UDLOSE" in Lake Forest wants to run, scoot on over the black Trans Am with the plate "SLOWKAR" and we'll see...

An S281E can most definitely hang with a h/c LS1. Even a bolt-on/pullied normal S281SC would run right with/ahead of one. It's the N/A ones that aren't much of a problem. I would probably run right with/ahead of a normal S281.

Nice kill, the Extremes are the bad *****, but I wouldnt be surprised if you could run with one seeing as how easily you pulled that one. And you might want to fix in the original post 05+ instead of 04.

That's strange, there is/was a C5 Zo6 with plates that said "UDLOSE" or maybe "UD LOSE" driving around the Newport Beach area.(Which is not too far from lake forest area) My brother said the Z's exhaust sounded real mean, Like he had a High compression race gas motor. I wonder if I't was the same guy.
I'm not shure they are heavy as hell, The spec's that I looked up said the SC verion and the extreem vertion weigh in at ~ 3350 Lbs. That kind of weight with 465 or 550 stock power with forged internals sounds good to me. If this is true it sounds much better than the heavy 4000 Lbs shelby GT500.
BTW, I would still rather have a C6 Zo6.

The SC 281 Saleen might be rated at 460hp, but I went on a test drive of one with a friend and it wasn't ANY faster than his 02 Ram Air (catback only). My car would kill it right now, and really kick some *** in a couple of weeks.
