ss vs. turbo mustang gt
took my car out for a little cruise cuase i was bored. i got onto I-45 south and got all the way over to the left lane and i see a black mustang gt in a distance behind me so i slow down a lil to wait for him to catch up. while he was gettin closer i was looking in the side mirror and noticed it had an intercooler. as soon as he got a little closer (were in the same lane) i speed up to let him know i wanted to play. he was with his g/f and they get up beside me at like a 70 and he tells me to go, so i did and he guns it all i can hear is his turbo he pulls like 4 or 5 cars to like 110-120 range. we raced again and same result. he was a cool guy didnt really get a chance to talk to em. gave each other a thumbs up and went on about our business. all in all it was pretty cool. im a stock a4 with a lid, dont really know what he had, all i know is that it had exhuast and it was turbo'd. he was shooting out a little white/blueish smoke though guessin from the fi.

thanks man. i was kinda hopeing for it to just be a gt with exhuast or something.but ya it was pretty cool cuase i really havent seen that many GTs that are turbo'd. i've just never ran a stock 99-04 gt before.always just wanted to see the difference u know (stock vs. stock). for some reason they never wanna race. i've played with 1 05/06 gt m5 but never really went heads up with em, pretty sure i would have gotten him though. i have 3.23 what would be my best speeds for roll racing?

^ that smoke is no good. Blackish smoke is usually from running rich in an FI application. White is almost always coolant. Blue is often oil. Blue and white means that the head gaskets dont like the boost. Thats a problem for him.
Honorable death. The mod motors take to boost pretty well when built obviously.
The real question is how hot was the GF?

I'm working on saving up some money to t/c my car. My friend has gotten pretty decent at piecing together turbo kits, and says we can probably boost my car for about $2k. 400rwhp and a nice BOV sound would make me happy. Honorable loss to the O/P

Driving is more than pushing the loud pedal its about knowing your car and its strengths and weaknesses.
There's a link in my sig to a gear calculator, it should help you figure out optimum speeds to roll race from and the ones to always avoid.
If you're still not sure I'll do what I can to advise.

They run anywhere from 8.90s to 9.30s in the 1/8 10s would be a disgrace lol. Gears, intake, sticky tires and some other mods they run in the mid 8s so they react well to gearing !
