So my friend has a srt-4 with some mods. Down pipe, no cats, 3 inch straight exhaust, intake, bigger intercooler, shortthrow, and some wastegate. I have a ls1 z28 with borla cat back and lowered. What you think the outcome would be??

Race from a dig, he doesn't stand a chance. From a 40mph roll...he could hang with you but without him turning up the boost, i'm sure you'll take him.

The SRT - 4 ******* as I like to call them can be fast (faster than moderately modded LS1s even), but they're still just a front wheel drive ricer car...fear not my friend!

From a dig you FTW, from a roll it might be close. My friend has an 04 SRT4 with those same exact mods. He's never raced an LS1, but he has ran a 99 Cobra and a 03 Mach 1, both lightly modded. He barely pulled the Mach a fender from a 40 roll, and pulled the Cobra a good car or car 1/2. So using that as a comparison I think he could be very close to an LS1 car if not pull out a win. Run him and find out, my money would still be on the V8.

You will kill him, me and my buddy raced one in a 97 GT with just the PI swap, gears, and shorty headers. HE had pretty much the same mods, said he dyno'd 275whp and like 300wtq, and we killed him from a dead stop, and put and 2 cars from a 40 roll, and 1 car from a 70 kick. I wasnt impressed at all.

i raced one like 3 months ago dude said he had 400 to the wheels i got 444 and beat the dogsh#t outta him i think people give those cars WAY to much credit. any car can be fast when u crank 18 or more psi into it

that car should give a stock ls1 a run for its money.doing the pi swap on a 96-98 makes more power than a stock pi car]more compression}
dont screw up the srt4 is a very fast car when modded

You know your cars, because hes compression went up to 10:1 and is faster than a stock 01+ GT, it is very fast for what little is done to it, but of course we didnt tell him about the PI swap, we just said it was stock, because you cant tell unless you really know what to look for

We'll actually he paid someone to do it. But now he finished the exhaust off with a bassini x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers, and it sounds sweet, that was last week actually, then this weekend..............he blew a head gasket

It should be a close race. From a dig you should win easily but from a roll its a drivers race.

My friend had an 04 srt with stage1, wastegate, bov, downpipe, 3" exhaust and intake and i pulled him easily with just a lid, ported tb and cutout.

Yea no question its fast. Well I just ordered my slp intake flow pac and was also thinking about getting a programmer ( i dont know how you guys feel about those). But after that I think I could pull him.

I thought the SRT-4 (Neon right?) is made by Dodge? I thought a technical "ricer" is an import? To each his own.

I've rode in a quick SRT-4 and it was too fast for a 4-banger FWD. Too fast for it's own good.

the programmers are ok till you start modding the car then they are useless when i only had lid catback and ported tb my hypertyech worked great,real noticeable gain in low end tourqe.but now i only use it to tune the shift points.its alot cheaper to do a mail order tune though

You will be fine with the mods he currently has. I have a buddy who has a stage 3 (Whatever that means!) i know he has the ability to really turn boost up and after all that I was able to put about a car on him from 60-120.

I raced a Stage2, BOV, boost controller, tune, CAI, full exhaust, pretty much everything except for the stock turbo. Raced from a 30roll and I beat him twice by a fender, check out my Mods...

Stage 3 = Upgraded Turbo (around 320hp I think)

It's going to be a very close race. Depending on boost and what fuel upgrades he has, he will be anywhere between 270-310 whp, most likely high 270s, low 280s. It will be a good run for sure.

Mind you I used to have an SRT so I know what they are capable of.
