Default Died to a SRT-4

Just about to cross the bridge over 475 in Toledo when i see a red srt-4 coming up from behind. He and i end up and the front of the pack at the light and he revs at me, so i rev back and give him the thumbs up. I knew that he wasn't stock from the sound of his blow off valve and exhaust but i wanted to see him run anyways. Light turns green and i punch it and he takes off while i do a standing burn out cause i have bald tires so now i'm gonna get some Eagle Gs-D3's and hopefully i can get some traction then.

Srt4's are severely traction challenged. Lot of people dis them but they are quick on a roll. Its easy to mod them and up the boost. I have a friend with one.

huh didn't know that about their traction, figured with the engine over the wheels and the front wheel drive they'd do well, the driver was older around 50's and seemed to know what he was doing he launched pretty well with almost no squeel or wasted spin.

some guys launch them good some dont. fwd cars dont launch good even though the engine is their because all the weight shifts to the back tires the second your momentum goes foward. a set of nitto fixed their traction probs. most serious racing srt4 have nittos street tires on the front. seems to be the popular choice for those guys.

their only quick from a roll when their modded 99blanco. and then that goes for any car rofl.

low 12's isnt bad for a front wheel drive 4 cylinder car with only an intake and boost control. They do get quicker but the front wheel drive is the problem.

You dont want to roll a seriously modded one in a stock or cammed ls1 or you could loose. All depends on how fast you car is.

No sure how you think any car is quick from a roll but what ever. I roll race more than anything and No some cars arent quick even then Dont under estimate the mighty srt4. I play with them all the time.

Modded ones handle ok and arent slow. Not every turbo 4 cylinder is a ricer.

There are a few around here and I know its only a matter of time before I run into one. I just hope I'll have enough when it happens.

wait. wait. wait. wait. wait. wait. wait.

You drive a RWD car that came with 245's stock and you lost to a FWD car with narrower tires because you couldn't get traction?

Do you realize how crazy that sounds?

As do I... They're very quick.. Its tough to find them stock as well.. It would take pretty significant mods to beat an LS1, but its not uncommon.. Traction is their killer for sure!

Yeah but if you would see my tires you'd understand i have a very bad set of michellin H rated tires that where from the previouse owner, they are very very bald and will be getting changed this week coming. At the time of the race when the light turned green i floored it and i swear i didn't move an inch off the line i sat there and spun them up to 5K rpm before realizing i wasn't gonna catch him and that i hadn't moved.
