Default Walked a brand new Porsche Cayman S.

Yesterday I was stopped at a red light on rt. 1 north in Wrentham. I was minding my own business playing with the radio when I saw a brand new "window sticker and all" Porsche Cayman fly up next to me. He inched forward a couple times and I new what was going on. So I gave him a good day nod, The light turned green and by by. I had him The first hundred or so feet. Then he caught up for a moment then When I hit third it was all over for him. I think this is a pretty impressive kill. It is a Porsche although not the fastest car I was happy. I stopped in a motorcycle dealer up the road and he came in behind me. He was very curious what was hiding under the hood. I spent a few minutes going over the mods and it turns out he worked for a dealer and was pretty impressed.

Actually Cayman's are alligator type critters, it's a Porsche Cayenne. Either way good kill, Porsches are over priced under performing status symbols in most cases.

They are twin-turbos with about 450 HP.

No, it's actually a 300 hp flat six or at least close to that in hp.

What an idiot I am. I was thinking about the SUV (Cayenne) not the Cayman. Duh. Sorry 'bout that. As far as performance goes, they are slugs for the money.

Performance wise, they are between the Boxster and 911. I easily beat one in a little street race a few months ago. They beat me on the road coarse though.

No. A Porsche Cayman is basically a Boxster coupe. And for all of you that are saying it's overpriced... it is built to be a "track toy," and it's simply one of the best you can buy. Some people are saying that a Cayman S can be more fun to drive than a base 911. I definitely think you get what you pay for.

Caymans have been proven to be faster around a track than the 911s except for the 997 turbo. Porsche purposefully holds back power on the cayman to keep the 911 at the top of their food chain. Its a shame...
