Default Spohn Torque Arm - Bolt issue

This may be trivial but i figured it cant hurt to ask...

I had a chassis mounted torque arm installed when i had some clutch work done, and now a few months later i notice & feel a banging noise under the center console where the Tq arm mounts to the crossmember

I get under the car and notice this bolt is the culprit -

i got on both of them with 1-1/8" wrenches and tightened the nut against the bolt.... however the nut/bolt assembly still spins freely against the body of the crossmember there which is what i dont get... i was thinking of adding a washer/lock washer in there to keep everything tight against each other

comments/thoughts...

its gonna clunk and bang here and there. part of a chassis mounted product.
you actually dont want either of those bolts super tight. why they both have locknuts. that arm needs to pivot.

Off topic but I am putting on the same torque arm and it looks like you have a catted y as well. Whats your ground clearance like and which piece hangs lower. It looks like the tq arm but the angle is deceiving. I can't lose any more ground clearance LOL.

Is the nut bottoming out on the threads (the washer will fix that). I tightened mine as tight as I could get it. It does reduce a lot of the clunking if it's tight.

I started with this cross-member but switched to the straight one to get more ground clearance. I still had plenty of room with Pacesetter LTs and OR Y pipe. Something to consider. If you are lowered, it's worth the extra ground clearance.

+1. Chassis mounted arms make noise, plain and simple.

Some people put a thick piece of rubber where it munts to the body to help with noise and vibration. Some of the clunking could be from binding. You dont want them loose but they do need to be snug. Use locktight and loosen them to snug. I ran this TQ arm but with rodends and the matching LCAs and the LCAs were louder, which I shimed them to quiten down. And use a tefon based grease on those poly joints.

And make sure its not the I-pipe hitting that rear drive shaft loop. It looks pretty close.

I THINK those bolts are made so you CANT overtighten them. That mount is made to move back and forth. I have the same arm and mine is quiet.

I think you have an ex problem.
