the purpose of the rear sway bar is to reduce rear body roll and center the rear and body vertically

The rear swaybar doesn't center the rear axle. That can only be done with an adjustable phb.

i meant during a hard launch. like on extreme HP cars, a swaybar isnt enough and a drag bar is used so car lifts and transfers weight evenly

Yeah definitely. And if he's drag racing, and I'm assuming he is with a 9 inch, turbo, and an iron block , then he should def put the rear swaybar back on there.

Hello, having a rear sway benefits the handling of the car and helps with body roll. Our extreme anti roll/rear sway bar stops the body roll on a drag car. If you use the car for street driving or corner carving we have a solid 22mm bar that will work great for that. If you intend on hitting the drag strip alot the extreme bar is your best choice. Give me a call if you have any questions.

Considering the number of folks who think not having a front bar is ok, I'd have expected the same sort of responses from them.

Frankly if you aren't going to have one of the bars on, it's safer to be missing a rear. It's not dangerous to not have a rear bar, it just makes the car understeer when driving at all spiritedly. Base Mustang V-6's like you'd rent don't have a rear bar. My girlfriend has one and it took me about 3 miles before I put a set of take-off GT stock bars on it (a bigger front and actually having a rear).

If you can tolerate the balance of the car that is very prone to understeer, and can deal with the wallow in the rear, you can leave it. It's safer than running a rear bar without a front bar by about 1000 miles.

take the car for a drive with no sway bars on it and see what it feels like... trust me you'll drive home and buy the sway bar mount kit for that 9 inch.

i got a 12 bolt and never put a rear sway bar on since im debating on whether putting in a 25mm unit or a drag bar. the car drives fine on the street without it. if you think you're going to launch full throttle without a rear sway bar good luck if you're making any kind of power. the back will slide out on you. as for cornering if you drive the car normally into a corner it's fine. haven't tried taking a corner wihtout deaccelerating a little and wouldn't risk it either.

Well, as extreme as this car is. It is my daily driver. Hell I just pretty much gave away my BRAND NEW Spohn multi link fully adjustable torque arm with tunnal mount and bought a BMR torque arm just to quiet the ride up. Something I just thought about. Will a sway bar even bolt up to my car with the STS rear mount turbo.
