Default What rims for CTS-V calipers?

I got a set of CTS-V calipers and bolted them up, they worked perfect. But when I went to re-install my wheel, I realized that I didnt have clearance between the spokes and the caliper.

My question is, what rims are you running with these calipers? I guess i'm going to need to change rims soon so i'm looking for ideas. I know C6Z rims work and im curious if the deep dish C6Z wheels will work bc I dont like the regular c6Z wheels but the deep dishes def look better. I'm currently running a deep dish y2k wheel and they dont come close to clearing.

deep dish will probly not work.

with the stock rotor on. you need 1 7/8" clearance between rotor and inside of spoke.

Just curious - where did you hear/see that C6 Z06 rims will work??

I heard those may have clearance issues as well.

CTS-V calipers bolt on to a stock F-body hub?

I saw Jason WW's car with the C6Z replicas and he had plenty of clearance

^^^
jason ww has normal c6 rims. but either way they still work.

and look at it this way. if they didnt work. then ever c6z06 out there wouldnt have brembo brakes.

if you all are worried. just wait i will have mine in about a week. just waiting to get my rims in.

Well the reason we were concerned is because the Corvettes have different wheel backspacing than F-bodies. So the wheels are closer to the brakes.

If you say they definitely work though, thats excellent.

did your stock brake lines work fine with the CTS-V calipers or did you buy after market ones?

I plan on trying this with my C5 Zo6s... looks like I might have to add a spacer though

I didnt bother releasing the pressure in my braking system until I was sure that the rims would clear, and they didnt, so i'm not sure about hte line situation

Jason has 19X10 C6s...that's why they work. OEM C6s do not work without a spacer...nor does pretty much any other wheel without a spacer.

Marine02SS put CTS-V calipers and C6 Z06 rotors on his Camaro and I think he's running 18" C6 Z06 replicas.

Why does it matter whether they are 18" or 19" or how wide they are?? The spoke-to-hub distance shouldn't really change for the given wheel design.

Think about it. Wheel width changes offset, which changes spoke clearance.

damn, I just measured mine as-is right now(18" C5 ZO6's) and have about an inch... I don't think I can pick up a whole 7/8 on a spacer

^^^ just get a 1" spacer.

also about the brake lines. dik. not there yet.

and your right the offset is different. but just get a f-body offset. and again if i need a spacer. i will just use my wet jet and get ones cut.
