Default Battery relocation

How many of you have relocated your batterys to the spare tire spot? Anyone have pics of their set up?

That's a very clean relocation. I like it.

Why do you have 2 sets of positive and negative battery cables? Also, where did you get the terminal block?

89.95 for the battery box- from the BMR page.
I really must must say, i have some BMR stuff on my car ordered from the webpage, 4 days later i have them at my place in Sweden, had never any issue when order from BMR! They are great!

allows me to keep the spare tire in for those long road trips.

you never know.

you can actually mount the battery straight with a modified version of what I did.

Mine is actually in the trunk but near the passenger side, but not in the area of the spare...

I may have pics, but forget looking for em right now

If you relocate your batteries, please put a fuse right at the battery. It should be rated at what your alternator can do. There are too many opportunities for the cable to short out somewhere with that long of a run.

I have seen people cut the pass sail panel to look like the drivers side where it doesn't go all the way down to the felt.

Is that what you did?

It is a pretty good idea for sure.

Heres mine, note 200A fuse on the ground cable & the block I made in the front. No cut cables
& you can switch back to stock easy.


This is the bat. block & a200A fuse block

2 ga X 15' lg should work. I got cable from NAPA.
+ 3' for ground

4ga would be OK, but bigger is better. I wouldn't go smaller than 4 though.

I didn't even realize the guy did that. Technically it will work the same in his setup on either one, but I would prefer to see it on the positive regardless.

If the cable has a short somewhere, the fuse will blow instead of the car catching a fire.
