Default Cryo-Stop Rotors

Anyone have this rotor installed or has had I'd before. I seen this rotor on tirerack.com. The hat is black on the rotor so it's a plus. I need to know if the stopping power is good. Thanks

Brembo blanks are better.

Actually I believe rotors don't have much of an effect on stopping power. If the OP is concerned about stopping power then pads are what he should look at. Also assuming with his mentioning of the black rotor hat that he is hoping to not have rust-o-mania, then Brembo blanks are definitely not what he's looking for.

I can't really comment on the cryo treated stuff. My instincts point towards "marketting hype", but I really haven't read enough info on them to really have an informed opinion. I would only recommend that if they are drilled to not use them in a performance application and also inspect the holes often for cracks.

You're right; I assume he needs rotors if he wants them. But if he wants them solely as a potential upgrade in stopping power, then indeed don't buy rotors.

I see those rotors he is talking about are blanks. One thing I know is you don't have to worry about any questions about a poorly slotted design nor holes. One thing we don't know is the quality of how its manufactured. The price seems alright, but for a little more I'd personally opt for the reliable ATE brand.

I was interested in them because they are blanks. No slotting or drilling. And of course the black hat. If I do buy these should I get the hawk hps or hawk ceramic?

Hawk HPS has better stopping force but dusts more. Hawk ceramics dust less, less stopping power.

Note that if your brakes can lock up your tires then your tires are your weak point in stopping. Brake pads wouldn't help in that situation.

Yeah I do need tires..but also I never changed my rear rotors..car had 134k. I tried the r1 concepts rotors on the front. They're okay..I want to change all 4 rotors and pads anyways. How much will it cost to powder coat the hat on the brembo blanks?? I was leaning towards them! What about the ATE rotors..does the hat rust??
