Default UMI or Spohn Torque Arm

I am looking to get a cross member mounted version torque arm from either UMI or Spohn but can't decide which is better. Both look like great products. Price is about the same unless I get multiple drive shaft loops. What do you guys think?

I have the UMI the Relocation Kit (2207) and the (2205) Torque arm. Both companies make really nice stuff parts. So I don't think you could go wrong with either company. Also I own the solid motor mounts from Spohn.

Hello
Like mentioned above you can't go wrong with no matter which one you choose. But I just wanted to leave you know that UMI Performance is offering 20% off of all of there products. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than Glad to help.
Thanks
Brad

So no real advantages to either one? Does the bearing rotator on the spohn make it any smoother?

I have run the spohn mid mount with the rod end. I didnt mind the extra vibration, really didnt notice it. You only need 1 saftey loop and thats the front one-and thats if you go to a track. But a rodend is harsher than the bushing-If mine gets too much axial or radial play I restake it. There is less nose dive during braking. And It seemed I got a better instant center with the mid mount. SPOHN is offering 40% off till monday almost noon eastern time.

I decided to go with the UMI for a couple of reasons. The cross member mount on the UMI looks to be made a little stronger with more bracing for the long tube header model. Also I like having 2 poly bushings for the arm to pivot on. The spohn has the thrustator which has bearings pressed into it. It might be a little smoother but I wonder how long it would last. We know that the poly bushings last for a long time and are easy to replace. And last I like how the vertical center bracing runs the whole length of the arm. Like I said they both look like great products.

Is it better to get the toruq arm that mounts to the tunnel brace or the actual tranny itself?

Also do they all cause more vibration throughout the car? Thanks.

I talked with Brad at UMI and he said the tunnel mount will be the best. It will be nosier with more vibration but will allow the car to hook the best. Your second choice is to get the transmission relocation bracket which gets the arm off of the transmission but leaves it in the same location. It will be the quietest and most stock feeling but still noisier than stock. I guess some people don't notice a difference and others take them off. I just ordered mine and am expecting it to be noisy. If it turns out to be a little quiter then great, if not the performance gains should make up for it.

Your basically going to get different answers based on what brand people prefer. I think BOTH are amazing TQs and you should just pick whichever one you like the most.

What is a siphon torque arm? You listed like that twice? You just need to tighten the adjuster and through-bolts at the crossmember. If the noise is still there, find someone stronger

I've got Spohn on both my cars. Worked and fit well with no problems.
