Default Can i see your SFC's?

Next upgrade on my list probably. if anyone has pictures handy of their sfc install i'd appreciate it.
Also any perks to getting weld in over bolt on? They'd be going on a DD, 2002 T/a.

I have 3 point bolt on SFCs. I don't have any pics, but install was very easy. I don't think there is an advantage to weld in over bolt on SFCs.

weld in are firmer. bolt holes naturally have to be slightly larger than the bolt that's meant to go into them, which means there is room for a very slight amount of movement. you'd probably never notice a difference, but if i'm going to add weight to my car, i want to get everything i can out of it.

Me personally (to each his own) I would get the bolt ins. No welding or painting the welds afterwards. Strictly bolt on's and if the car's not an all out race car, I think that they are perfect!

you can buy bolt on (i think they're cheaper). install them, then drive to a muffler shop and have them welded on. welded is always stronger than bolted

I have the UMI 2pt weld in. Their pix are the best to go by. Nice stuff.

been thinking about the UMI 3point bolt in myself. I just like the idea that if i want to trade or sell the car i can pull the SFC back off. I like the extra connection point on the 3point also.

Same here, they tuck up VERY nice. I figured that I could bolt them in and get them welded later if I wanted.

As long as you install the SFC's properly with the suspension loaded. And torque the hardware to specs you shouldn't have any issues. And like you mentioned if you ever decide you want to sale the vehicle you can remove them. Either way you can't go wrong !

convertible weld-in sfcs from BMR. this is at the shop while they were being welded on. i took some paint to the undercarriage after this.

Thanks for considering UMI Performance! The installation is very easy (like mentioned above make sure the chassis is loaded and you will get new hardware for your rear control arm as well as the directions) They are pretty straight forward. And if you are installing them on a street car you will be fine with 2 point SFC's. The 3 point SFC's are nice as well but they are for more a racing application and (don"t get me wrong they are pretty much a roll cage for underneath the vehicle and give you maximum strength). What it comes down to is your plans for the vehicle and how you drive it the most.

i like the weld in ones....only because you never have to worry about them loosening and elongating the holes. welding is stronger.

i'm willing to part with the $200 if i ever end up selling the car...if nothing else its incentive to the buyer

The reason why we offer both bolt in version and weld on is not everyone has the access to a welder. And in that case we suggest going with the bolt on SFC;s and later down the road when they can get them welded then. But there are some people that don't want to weld on there vehicle (which that is understandable as well) Either way you decide to go is a plus. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
