Default Is a poly trans mount worth it over stock replacement?

Ok so for you guys that have a poly mount, does it rattle your teeth out of your head or is the noise bearable? Any excessive vibration in the shift ****? just lookin to know before I get one because I could deal with a little vibration but I hate excess noise in the cab. Thanks.

Hello
Poly transmission mounts are nice. But they will cause a vibration due to the firmer material. If you are not looking for any vibrations I would suggest looking into a aftermarket rubber replacement. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help. In the end its a personal preference.
Thanks
Brad

You won't like a poly trans mount if you can't deal with excess noise in the cabin...

I just like everything sounding smooth. All i need to hear is the exhaust and the motor and I am content. Going with an aftermarket rubber will still minimize shift **** movement under acceleration compared to the oem mount correct?

Get an ES poly trans mount and grind the pre-load bumps flat, then install it. Doing it that way it perfectly quiet! That's how I've done mine several times, without any problems.

Your talking about actually grinding down the polyurethane itself on the two bumps on the backside correct?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about.

This is exactly what I did and it works, although I did not use the preload plate either.
Mine has virtually no noise of vibration under normal driving. At WOT the noise and vibration do increase but are no where near what it was before grinding those humps.

Also if your trans mount is torn the likely suspect is bad motor mounts, so you may want to look at those also.

That's a good combo, the ride is much better than when I had only the mount in. Nice rear meats on the Camaro btw.
