Default Stranos on Konis with Hose mod and lower perch too much?

Just got my stranos and konis and my question is if anyone is running this setup with the rear hose mod and lower front perch. I dont mind a low car but I dont want impossibly low. Does anyone have pics or any input(other than "its gonna be too low")? I know what the setup looks like on the upper perch with the isolators in place, just curious on what I want to do. Any pics would help, or personal experience. Thanks!

The shock's aren't designed to run like that. You CAN use the lower perch/heater hose, but you'll wear through your shocks wayyy to early.

There was a thread about this a few weeks ago.

He said he had "stranos" and konis....I don't think he was running stock springs

EDIT: After looking around, I can't find the link to that thread, but someone had a question about installing his Koni's wrong and wanted to try it on the lower perch. However, it looks like you still CAN do the heater hose if it doesn't sit level enough. Just don't do lower perch AND lowering springs

ya i read the part about the stranos. i was asking because i thought that there was a chance that the reason you didn't want to run lowering springs on the lower perch may also apply to stock springs.

makes me feel better that stock springs can take the lower perch. that's my plan. thanks man.

Oh yeah, the lower perch is basically FOR stock springs (or 1LE springs I guess too), so Koni designed them to run like that. Lots of people do this, me included once spring comes around and my Koni's get to my house!

It's just that they're not designed to drop .75 (lower perch) + 1.25 (Strano springs) and still maintain good ride/durability.

now I understand. Thanks for taking the time to clear that up.

Ya that 2 inches would suck to ride on.

I'm sure from Sam Strano (a sponsor)>>>

Koni's on the lower perch with stock springs, no problem. With lowering springs its to much. I'm sure Sam will chime in when he runs across this post.
I have springs sitting in the garage waiting on the Koni's

Pm DAVE00, I could be wrong but I believe he has Koni SA's on the lower perch w/Pro-kit lowering springs up front. If you do it I would do the "UMM" to regain lost compression travel. Expect about a 2" drop with the strano springs on the lower perch up front.

Actually, I was thinking about doing the same thing.... I'm facing somewhat of a dilemma, as I installed the Strano springs/Koni 4-3 set up on my '96 Z-28 a couple of weeks ago. However, since A) I haven't driven the car, because it's away for the winter; and B) it's still up on a set of ramps, because I still have some more work to do on it, I don't know if the car will "settle" at all.

But, I will say this... At this point, the car seems to sit about 3/8" higher (based on the fender gap) than it did with the Eibach Pro Kit/SLP Bilstein set-up I previously had in it. Consequently, I'm somewhat less than thrilled.....
