New Koni 4/4 install
UPDATED PICS ON POST #48
PICS OF THE WS6 WITH KONI 4/4 AND STRANO SPRINGS POST # 53
Got the Koni 4/4 install wrapped up today and took it out for a short drive. I kept the stock springs; lower perch in front and hose mod in the back. Didn't take any measurements, but eyeballing I would say 3/4" drop is pretty accurate, which will hopefully keep my headers off the pavement. I can't say much about the ride yet but I will update after I get an alignment and put more than 2 miles on it. I will also be able to give a decent comparison of the Koni 4/4s with stock springs vs. Strano springs, as I will be putting 4/4s and Stranos on my WS6 when I recover from this install.
As for the install, I would say nothing was too difficult other than one shock nut that was so rusted I had to cut it off...on a 50k mile car that is always garaged...so plan on yours being nasty too. I took the time to clean up all the rust on the a-arms and paint them, so my install was a little more time consuming than most people quote, but with help it's not too bad. If anyone would like some basic tips on install, feel free to ask or PM.
Thanks to Sam Strano who was more than helpful in giving me set-up info and will be available at all times for adjustment tips as needed. I would highly recommend buying from him just for the advice he provides.
Thanks to Bowtie_Racer for helping wrench and providing comedic relief.
Sorry for the less than spectacular phone pics...

Looks good, I enjoyed myself. Any time you need help, i'm a phone call away. Hopefully I will have some projects in the future requiring you help. One down one to go, should go a little quicker, I would imagine.

Thank you
And thank you ...they'd look better if they were clean
Yeah, I do have one on there. I'm only running 295s, but the rear end was off a little factory, and lowering didn't do it any good. Centered up nicely now

Just FYI I ran konis (4/3) with otherwise stock suspension on my car for quite a while (remember I have a WS.6 though which means I have the 32mm front bar and 9" wheels, 17/40/275 tires) and absolutely loved it. Perfect combination of DD and back road fun IMO, the car was so planted and rode better than stock (less jarring, but more firm, BMW-like). Drastically improved balance, feel, control and grip with no down sides.

Just curious I got my Koni 4/4's last week and was going to do the exact same thing you did here. Lower perch in front and hose mod in the back on stock springs. Question: Do you think it needs an alignment after this? Is it going to wear uneven on my tires if I don't get it re aligned?
Thanks

Looks good. I just ordered Koni 4/4's, strano springs, Hp tuners, and a new 12 bolt with 3.73s with a posi. I have a fun weekend or two in store for me this spring. Damn, that was a lot of money.

That is a chunk of change. I got Konis for both cars and some UMI goodies since everyone having all these sales. It's a conspiracy! Have fun with the install...if you were closer I'd offer a hand.
