Default What the Fbody is the diff on a WS6 T/A

I have a plane jane T/A no ram air no WS6. I know that a WS6 is a suspension upgrade but I wanted to know exactly (part for part) is the difference between my T/A and a WS6.

I think WS-6's had 1LE springs up until some point mid 2000 model production.... there's a thread on this not too far back.

ram air and ws6 are one and the same.

ws6's had:
Ram air hood/box
Stiffer shocks
Lower springs
Bigger Sway bars
17" rims
ws6 badges
better flowing exhaust/different tips (option i believe)

that was the coupes of course, the convertibles Im not 100% on, but i know the earlier years (96 and 97) didn't have ws6 badges and had 16" rims...they where also just called "ram air convertibles"

Also, remember that the WS6 package was available on Trans ams AND Formulas...

According to Sam, who probably has the best idea about what has what kind of suspension the WS6's had... https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...-than-z28.html

It appears that it depends on the year and time it was made

Only the front swaybar was "bigger". Not the rear. Seems to be a rash of that mis-information going around the last few days--it's got to be coming from somewhere...

The shocks had different vavling (still crappy, but better than Formula/Z28 spec). The springs were *not* lowering springs. In fact the 1LE springs usually were higher than normal springs, and about mid-2000 all cars got normal springs anyway.

^ there ya go...this guy would know for sure

I know it differs a lot from year to year, I was speaking in general terms for the most part. The SS's had different suspension package options in 96-97 IIRC tho, didnt they?

SS's did have options on the suspension. So did Firehawks, but WS6's were all pretty much the same as stock, no suspension option SS's.
