Default Spohn vs UMI

Any opinions on Spohn suspension components vs UMI? I've been eyeballing Spohns torque arms for a while and they look like they may be made to a little bit higher quality. Also both companies have those "Roto joints" and "Del Sphere" but if you take a look at the insides of them they just look like sperical rod ends with plastic bushings on the outside. Any opinions?

Personally, I would stay away from a Spohn rear sway because of fittment. It contacted my QA1's and I ended up with a UMI. Spohn's torque arm is fine, but my spherical bushings started to "clunk" over time. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem...

Hello,

Yes this is correct. Our Roto-Joint is a spherical ball lined in a Delrin race. Delrin features a high tensile and yield strength and also high in wear resistance. The spherical ball is machined from 4140 chromoly steel then hard chrome plated to prevent wear. The Roto-Joint is designed to offer a more streetable alternative to rod ends. They will not wear out as quickly and will offer a slightly better ride, also if and when they do wear the Roto-Joints are adjustable tightening the tension of them when needed. One difference about our Roto-Joint compared to the others is our entire Roto-Joint assembly is designed, machined and manufactured right here in our facility. Not a single item is out sourced or purchased from overseas companies. We are very proud of this and not many other companies can make this claim.

As for UMI quality, I think you will be very pleased with the quality and service we have to offer. We are very proud of our craftsmanship and very proud to build our products here is the USA.

If I can help with any questions please ask. Thank you!
Ryan

I'm not sure whay mine didn't fit. I even tried shorter endlinks. It rubbed on the shockmount as well. Maybe the 12 bolt was different.

Looks like your sway bar is too wide. I never seen them that close to the shock mount brackets. Also did you try making a spacer on the pads? That should pull the whole bar lower and clear up some of that rubbing. Or get another bar that's not as wide.

I just got a UMI.
Not sure what the deal was... I didn't try a spacer.
It looked like that on both sides. I ran it for awhile that way and it damn near destroyed the shocks.

I have UMI and spohn, you cant go wrong with either. I have had awesome luck with UMI's customer service and have even talked to their crew at cars shows before, good group of guys. Spohns customer service was also awesome, thats who my S60 was ordered through. Both companies are A++
