Well I got the replacement but ran into another issue. I mounted the caliper up with the rotor and the rotor is hitting the front of the inside caliper looks like I would need a spacer on the inside to push it out. I thought this was not needed on this set up?

If you used the ss rotors and cts-v calipers you should not need caliper spacers. I have this set up on mine and I did not need them or used any.

Default 2002 LE C165 CTS-V caliper install

Just finished mine. Looks and works great. Some issues all should know before tackling this project.
The 4 piston caliper will NOT fit inside the LE 10-spoke m/c face wheel.
VHT caliper paint is a perfect colour match for the LE red.
56mm Z06 18x9.5 rims are required. Tire change does not affect speedo when going from stock 275/40/17 (25.7" OD) to 275/35/18 (25.6" OD). Several other notes on the rims. As received they will not fit on the 02 hub on the rear. The bore in the center must be machined to a min. of 2.625" deep or the rear hub will bottom out before the wheel meets the flange. No issue on the front for some reason. After the wheels were machined, the center caps were no longer functional and have to be glued in.
2010-2013 SS Camaro (14"x 1.25") rotors.
Front wheel studs must be replaced with 1/2" longer than stock. I used Summit 910101.
A 3/8 wheel spacer is required between the rotor and the wheel. Make sure the holes are not too big and allow imbalance. I had this problem and had to make little "shims" up to take up the slack.
Consider an upgrade from DOT3 to DOT4 fluid.
I used stainless lines from Flyin-by.

Good luck! These brakes are killer. Easy to bleed. Pad changes are a snap. They are so better than the stock brake. The final result is a rock hard brake pedal. You can stop harder than you will ever need to....

Default Great but noisy?

Just another success report: completed this on my '02 WS6 (20" wheels w/ offset for big brake kit), upgraded the fronts to 1st gen CTS-V calipers (4 pot brembo) and used 2010 Camaro SS rotors from Granatelli. Torqued the calipers to 96 ft-lbs per CTS-V spec. As far as enlarging the center hole in the rotors, I just used the 70.6 mm spec from the Centric catalog and things fit perfectly.

The brakes work very, very well on the track - I see no need for a rear brake upgrade (aside from the upgraded rotors/pads that have been on there for a while now).

The only weirdness I've noticed is that there's quite a bit of noise that comes from the brakes. At highway speeds, you can notice a slight buzzing/dragging sound, and with the windows open and driving inside a tunnel or alongside a concrete barrier, you hear the same but quite amplified.

Anyone else hear that? It's way louder than any other car I've heard, but all wear seems to be normal, and no lines or anything appear to be rubbing.

Mine doesn't do that noise when driving but it does squeak like a **** in the mornings for the first couple of feet of braking.

mine are very squeaky below 15mph but I'm using Hawk HP+ pads so thats to be expected. i have noticed a slight vibration when braking with the wheel turned and on the highway i can hear them but it's not loud. i just figure bigger pads, bigger rotors, more contact, more noise.

i used 18x9.5 wheels with a 40mm offset. bored the 5th Gen rotors to the spec in all the threads (70.6 i think) and required no spacers. I went with Hawk pads and ATE brake fluid. no issues!

So, is it worth going with the 6-piston CTSV calipers over the 4-piston calipers? I had plans of doing the Z06 kit from Kore3, but they have been on backorder for a long time.

Also curious on how well the caliper paint holds up over time? I would have to paint them red!

Just finished my set up using stock WS6 wheels and 5th gen breaks. Turned out awesome.

Anyone try using 04-07 cts-v rotors? Ordered my calipers, lines, pin kits, pads. But not sure which rotor to go with. I want powerstop evolution to match the pads that the guy on eBay is including with his calipers. The thing is, I don't want to have to have the rotors machined or lose pad contact area. So wondering if the v rotors are a happy medium between the c6z rotors (which have reported loss of pad contact area) and the 2010 ss rotors (which I got quoted $120 for and "we'd need a few days" at a local machine shop).

It will take any competent machinist like 15 minutes to bore the hubs.

The oem 2010+ SS rotors were like $115 shipped.

I was under the impression that if you aren't using a spacer, you can use stock length studs. Is this wrong? I have 40mm offset spyders from oewheels and don't need spacers. So stock length studs should fit if I'm not using spacers right?

Also, how much benefit do you get from the 2010 SS rotors over the z06 rotors? I know people say the pad contacts the rotor more on the camaro5 rotors but is the additional hassle to get rotors machined worth it? Just wondering if anyone has any pics of the pad contact area or experience with how much better it is to justify the choice.
