I`m going to cut my stock springs and have read that 1 coil lowers 2".
But do i count the first coil? do a cut like in the picture really lower 2"
is 1 coil the left (red stripe) or the right?

OP - Cutting one coil is shown on your pic on the left. Cutting coils is not dangerous if you don't get crazy. Here is a formula you can use to calculate what you'll get by cutting coils off. The only adjustable variable is the number of active coils - You have to guess at that to get the true spring rate but at least you know how much difference you'll get. When cutting the spring make sure to use a cut-off wheel.
k = G x d^4 / 8 x n x D^3
k = spring rate - #/in.
G = spring material constant - use 11,250,000
d = wire diameter - in.
n = number of active coils
D = mean coil diameter - in.
My '02 springs had these dimensions (before I cut them!):
Front - stock: .560" wire, 9.25 coils, 7.5 active coils, mean dia. = 4"
spring rate (calculated) = 288 #/in.
Rear: .480" wire, 7.5 coils, 6.25 active coils, mean dia. = 4.75"
spring rate (calculated) = 111 #/in.
Spring rates cutting 1 coil:
Front: 332 #/in.
Rear: 133 #/in.
k = G x d^4 / 8 x n x D^3
k = spring rate - #/in.
G = spring material constant - use 11,250,000
d = wire diameter - in.
n = number of active coils

Cutting 1 coil doesn't lower it 2". I've got a full coil cut and it ended up lowering it somewhere around an inch. I've parked next to a car on Sportlines (which lower the car 2") and my car sits significantly higher.
Don't listen to the naysayers who say cut springs ride like ****, they only ride like **** if you have **** shocks or you cut them too much. My car rides great, but it does have Bilsteins instead of the stock DeCarbon shocks.

at the strip or at the track. I want it looking good thats it.
I`ve cut the springs on all my cars from volvos to camaros and 3gen trans am. I just want to know how much to cut for a 2" inch drop, when i mesure the fender gap it would need a 3" drop to get the fender down to the tire....but i`m starting with 2 inches

3" drop is WAY too much to run on these cars IMHO. Youll most likely have clearance issues every where.
Here are some pics of our old 02 WS.6 on Sportlines, compared to my buddy's box stock Firehawk. Measuring from the fender lip to the ground, our WS.6 was 2.25" lower at all 4 corners than the Hawk.

I know but mine looks higher than that red hawk i think....
The silver ta looks just like i want mine.
A 2" drop would be fine does anyone have experience of cutting?
How much would 1,5coil drop the car?

cut a little less than you want to cut, and youll probably be happier, just do it with an air grinder, in a 5 gallon bucket of water, thats how i cut my draglaunch springs (they make for a nice 4x4 i think i cut a coil out and got it back to stock height.

Wow..
OP, you can probably find a good used set of lowering springs for pretty cheap. I found mine used and paid 20 bucks total for all four of them. They've been on the car for over 2 years and I haven't had any problems at all.

2" drop springs and heater hose mod in the rear, settled ride drop is just above 3"
Im at 25.5" fender height from the ground on all 4 corners, stock is about 29" give or take. Dropping it another 1" in the front soon

It will look hella clean when your parked but doo you care more about looks then comfort? It's going to make you feel like your driving a lowrider with every bump I've done this a few times buy the real deal and you can feel the difference. Clean f bodies by the way
