Default Sway bar hitting 9inch rear end. Advice?

So I notice going over bumps that I hear some small bangs from back, it seems like my sway bar is hitting my 9inch rear end. There is very little clearance right where the torque arm mount bolts go into. Anybody have any hints or ideas to help?

I did a quick search and couldn't find anybody having any issues.

We have clamp-on brackets which are lower than stock. Check www.umiperformance.com.

I'll get you a link when I get to my pc.

See if there are any marks on the sway bar. There are a few places that could potentially hit because of the mounting system for the torque arm. It's not uncommon that some "clearancing" may need to be done.

I'm going to piggyback on this thread. Mine does the same except it is always contacting the Moser. What's the best way to add clearance? Could I grind a bit off the tube? It looks like there would not be much, if any ay all, structural integrity loss

Sorry for the delay. Here's the link I mentioned. The U-bolts are long enough to shim the bar down a bit if you need to.

You can definitely grind it down without any issue. Unfortunately it is a somewhat common deal due to where they weld the mounting points for the torque arm bracket. 5 minutes with a grinder and the problem will be fixed.

Are these brackets the cheapest way to add a rear sway to a moser?

Or should I get ahold of moser and get the brackets from them since it was originally an option for my 9inch?

I don't mind welding on brackets if it's cheaper. I just want to be able to run big bars and not hit my bmr torque arm or drag the bar on the ground.

It would work, but you should have the ends cut off the housing and reset. When you weld on the housing it will warp it and cause the ends to misalign, and possibly end up with leaks or excessive bearing wear.

Alright.. I'll figure out a bolt on setup. Then just put some tack welds on it once I have it where I want it. I could see trying to run full beads causing some distortion though.
