Are Rear Lower Control arms worth it if I want to track my car???
Hey everyone,
I've been pondering the idea of whether to just replace the bushings or the entire rear lca. My plans on doing autocross and road course eventually. Recently I noticed the bushing where bad so some sort of replacement will happen regardless.
My question is should I just replace the bushings or the whole unit? And if the whole unit should I go with non-adjustable, single, or dual adjustable?
thanks for any help you guys can provide.

I think replacing your LCAs puts you in SCCA SM class, which is pretty tough to compete in for autox. Then again if your just starting out you may just be in it to have a good time at first.
What are you hoping that it will improve for you?

Are you going to class race or are you looking to just enjoy your car at High Performance Driving Events (HPDE). Replacing lower control arms does indeed change your classification so you're limited to just running the factory arms with replacement bushings. Unfortunately, the factory arms leave much to be desired when adding power or looking for a more rigid replacement. If you're not concerned with your class and just want to have fun with you car, a set of Poly/Rod lower control arms are a great option.

In my brutal opinion.. don't worry about LCAs right now then, given you want to do racing eventually. Buy them when you want to fix something, like wheel hop for instance. I still have stock LCAs and havent even had the chance to put in my moog bushings. I've won a few local spec drag events with my car.
