Default K member install and dropping oil pan

I might want to pull my pan due to what seems to be a leak. Since my k member is gonna be off this is time to do it. Motor is held in place from above. Any issues while doing this??? Anything else that I need to address while in there??? M6 car btw.

Shouldn't be any issues. I would recommend replacing a-arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, ect. Most of that probably needs replaced due to age on car if you haven't done so yet. Maybe new springs and shocks too. Check the steering rack.

As long as you have a way to support the motor while the k-member is removed you will be good. I personally use a old strut tower brace I keep around to chain up the motor and support it from above. Besides the oil pan gasket the only other thing that I can think of absolutely doing would be the motor mounts if it was something you wanted to upgrade.

Thank you to all. I am using a UMI roadrace k but also some BMR pieces. Doing prothane mounts too. Pretty sure it is my power steering that was leaking but once I get her more torn apart I will know with certainty. I am using a harbor frieght tool to hold motot from above.

Holding from above shouldn't be an issue. You can use that HF tool or a regular crane and an attachment plate.
