Talking Made my own bad *** rubber bump stops for $10

Found these universal rubber stops at autozone for about $5 each and thought I'd custom make my own since the stock foam ones suck and were screwed up.

First step was to drill a hole in the center of the bump stop plate

Notice I ground down the nipple. You could drill another hole for it though

Also note that I cut the rest of the bolt off so it would fit back on the car

Done and installed!

totally need to do this, when I was at the tire shop last year I was all like "look how shot these things are" and pushed on it and it fell off in my hand.

here's the pic I took just before it fell off.

Ive seen those and never even though to drill a hole in the original bumpstop plate to make them fit, kudos to you!
Wanna do me a favor? Will you measure the height of the bumpstop from the rubber bottom to the tip?
How do these feel compared to the foam stock ones? Softer hopefully?

Thanks everyone! It is pretty easy to do if you have the right tools. Fortunately I did and it litterally took me 30 minutes from start to bolting back on the wheels. I just masked off the new rubber block and used some gloss black spray paint so they look new again.

My old ones were basically missing so I have no way to measure. I do know what they look like, and just from what I remember and eying it, they look damn close. I can't really say how these compare to stock, because again, mine were missing, but I also don't go around bottoming out my car. I would think it would be pretty hard to do that. They are more or less there to prevent the the shocks from being damaged I would think.

Actually I was wanting you to measure the height of the new ones you just put in, I want to compare that height with the factory ones that I have before I consider trying these out.

Has this been made a sticky yet?

I'm pretty sure these are almost identical size wise to the OEM foam bump stop. Either way, they are damn close and will serve their intend purpose while looking awesome at the same time.

Bump stops off a JY 3rd gen: $7.50 a pair, made from the same rubbery substance as above, and a direct bolt-in.

What's the part number to the one you used? Any pics? Where did you get the direct bolt on?

I mean I actually went to the junkyard and pulled them off a 3rd gen. I don't see a PN anywhere on them. I'll get some pics.
