Talking UMI Releases New Product: Bolt In Front Coilover Kit for the 1993-2002 GM F-Body

UMI Designed Bolt-in Front Coilover kit for 1993-2002 GM F-Body
P/N 2048-300, 2048-350, 2048-450, 2048-550
Priced at $679.99/set

UMI Performance, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of our new P/N 2048 F-body front coilover kit. The rubber shock mount tends to rust out and allow unwanted movement while being costly to replace. The 2048 replaces that unit with a bolt-in, race proven double shear upper mount and bearing mounted shock. The 2048 brackets capture a Viking double adjustable coilover specific shock and a 300, 350, 450 and 550 lb-in spring. We recommend 550 for auto-x and road racing, 450 for hot street and corner carving, 350 for general use and 300 for drag specific use. Upgrades include Crusader Pro-Tour specific valvings. Included lower t-bar fits in GM factory or UMI standard mount lower a-arms making this a true bolt in coilover. This kit is generally used for 1-3” lowering from factory location and does not make any permanent changes to the upper spring mount or chassis. All UMI products are manufactured tested and raced out of Philipsburg, PA and always use US materials.

Anyone that has spent $120 or more buying new strut mounts and isolators knows the value of using this bracket instead.

You get the clean articulation of a bearing shock and end up saving a few bucks! Perfect for road race, auto-x, and even drag racing. Those that want a coilover kit strictly for daily driving, we recommend the conventional stock replacement style coilover that everyone has been using!

It sandwiches the upper control arm mount. There's a quarter inch thick washer that goes between the bottom piece and upper washer to fill the void in the upper control arm mount. New hardware to mount the upper control arm mount to the body will be included. Detailed pictures will be coming soon!

It may be a little firmer and could perhaps transmit some noise on rough surfaces. Vibration would be no. Right now our test car runs solid motor mounts and rod ended suspension so we couldn't tell any differences. This kit is recommended for the car that will see some track time, auto-x, road course or drag racing while still being streetable.

Check out the link below of a customer review, there are pictures in there that might help.

Also please note this a UMI coilover kit that uses Viking brand shocks. Our kit eliminates the need for the upper rubber shock mount and gives you fabricated brackets to replace it. The shock is also bearing to bearing, part # is 2048. You can purchase this kit from UMI or any UMI dealer. I hope this helps!
