Red face The links to camber after lowering & TORQUE of spring nuts

I know i found it while doing a deep 200 thread search a while back.

someone posted ideal alignment settings after a 1.25" drop link or the data (its 837am gimme a break!)

and they posted all the torque settings for the component upgrade of shox/springs/sways.

If you want post the infoz or links and i'll owe ya a beer. too damn early to be doing this searching yawn

You should be able to get -1--1.5 degrees if you want it. How much of that negative you want is up to you though. There really isn't an ideal camber setup. It's different for different car, drivers, tires and the way you use the car.

If you are the least bit interested in better handling,, try 1 degree of negative camber. I found that when my car had the stock camber setting {about 0 degrees} I would wear the outer edges of my tires. With around 1.25-1.5 degrees of neg. camber,, the tires wore fairly evenly.

I had my car way down a while back {bout a 2 inch drop} and I was able to get something like 1.8 degrees of neg. camber. It wore the inside pretty bad if driven regularly too much.

If on the hand, if you have a set of skinnies up front,,, try about .5 degree of negative camber just so the tires are somewhat perpendicular to the road when launching.

Like I said,,,, everyone has their preferences on the topic of camber. For your question on the torque values,,,, hmmm, dunno but this place might have it somewhere in the there.

It's a on-line service GM manual, don't know how usefull it is,,, I've never tried it. Hope you find what what you are looking for though.

Edit,,,, looked around on the site a bit. Wanted torque values, here ya go-

thanks man. Question again: I dont have 17's yet (working on it), should i wait till i get them to align? I'm getting subframes put on tomorrow after the shox/springs/sways (review coming up shortly) were put on by a friend last night.

So if i align on stock z28 16's will i need to re-align for 17'ers 274/40/17? If i get 17's with the eibach pro-kit (1" drop dude said) i want tires to last a while since the budget has gone way way way overboard so far.
lol.

You will not see a camber difference when you change tires and wheels. Go ahead and get it aligned if you want. If I didn't do alot of AutoX or playing in the corners, I would want .5-.75 degrees of negative camber. Just try the -.75 first to see how the tires wear.

yeah im not worried about these 16's. I would like it to handle like its on rails as best as possible on street, but have BMW/AUDI freeway manners. Which i know isn't possible with my driving skill. I could take 25mph off-ramps at 75+ in my 1.8 audi a4 only mod: rear sway bar. Gotta love AWD. the '02 330ci coupe can do it about 65mph. I think the z28 before the suspension could do it at 45 lol.

so -.75 ideal to -1 camber
4.5 caster (if possible)
0" toe

would be good target area for street and freeway manuevers? I drive 99.9% city , wife drives 99% Freeway, but only 1% of the time . lol
