Default Front drives like its on rails but...Tail wag - why?

I mean i threw the car into a corner at 60 which i would have breaked (br) to 45 normally, car tracked amazingly, but the tail end was wagging.

I haven't put on SFC's they are in the box, dunno if that matters. And i have drag radials in back rock 245-50-16's on all 4.

I ordered 17x9.5 & will go to KDW's when the time comes, but i'm wondering if its a byproduct of the suspension choice or just not setup right yet:

eibach pro-kit
revalved bilsteins
eibach 32/22 sway bars
16's with drag radials
no sfc's

I love the steering, point and go, almost like my small german cars, but the tail wag, sucks. Tell me what you think, did i make any serious mistakes on the choice of parts which were CHEAP. Cheap being the operative word of the day.

Too big of a rear bar or too small of a front bar. Will make the car loose.

Drag radials have a very soft sidewall. You might be feeling tire squirm.

i think its more squirm, the tires aren't really breaking loose to say, maybe its just body roll or something. I've felt FWD oversteer where the back end kicks out.

also due to my ***** being careful at the moment, i wasn't really putting much throttle into the turn. I went from FWD -> AWD -> FWD -> RWD so i'm still reeling from the fwd driving style, and the a4 audi AWD well with a swaybar you just dont have to worry about anything but tires.

Will wait for 17's to come in and good tires and maybe try more throttle and see whats really going on. Will SFC help in this situation? Front tracked wonderfully on ancient old *** yoko a509 pos tires.

Nittos DRs have enogh sidewall stiffness to minimize sqirm, given enough air pressue. But BFG DRs are very mushy.

Also, a 16" tire has significantly more sidewall than a 17.

I feel a lot more squirm with my 285/40R17 GS-D3s
than the somewhat lower and proper-width 275/40R17
F1s. They may be a bit underinflated at 31PSI, as far
as handling optimum (but traction is great).

Panhard rod is the mechanical piece to look at; if it's
stock maybe you are getting onto its flex limits? The
mounts and braces are also not spectacularly stout,
somwehave reinforced their upper mount but it seems
not too common.

Might just try pushing the car sideways on the driveway,
see how much sidewall bunge accounts for what you
felt or whether the body moves relative to the wheels.
Though you would have to work real hard on it to equal
real cornering forces, you might see something that
makes sense of it.

I got the eibach sway bars as well with sportlines crappy stock shocks and 17" and I don't have the *** feeling loose, the only problem I feel is from my stock shocks. Oh the bars are 35/25 as well

I second the suggestion on a new panhard rod. They tend to keep the rear a little more planted. Since you're lowered, you should go with an adjustable one.

try putting stock rear sway bar 19mm... and see if it solves your issues... should.

yeah the front doesn't understeer (which is great) i'm not sure of the dynamics you are suggesting?

it's a matter of balance front/rear.
The car is too tail happy and as suggested as well by Mitch, you have too big a rear sway-bar for the front sway-bar.
2 choices:
1. get a bigger front sway-bar
2. put a smaller rear sway-bar

This will loosen a bit the rear-end, allowing it to transition better, and get more grip. Relative to the front... which will help you in this situation.
If you have your stock sway-bar lying around... swap it for the test, you'll see.

logical. I am going to wait for $$ (or bday/xmas) to put on my 17x9.5 with F1 GS D3 and Subframe connectors first. It may just be the sappy sidewalls of running 245-50-16 nitto drag radials that i'm feeling.

I'd rather not add more understeer/play with sways until i finalize the setup, as both components MAY alter the geometry of the car right? just gotta make some cash $$ lol

damn mod bugs

Trust us when we say bigger front and smaller rear sway bar. the size of your wheels and tires will help when you increase to a 17 inch wheel. you may also be coming into that one corner a bit to hot and inducing a to much body roll.

First thing to do would be to find a better line through the corner before you start tweaking stuff and then see what happens.
