Default Brake Pad Help!!!!

Bought new Hawk HPS pads, and got the frontgdrivers side on ok. Trying for the front passenger side and i have the pistons pushed in as far as they go and the caliper doesnt fit over the rotor....probably by a 1/16". If i bang on it hard enough, it will probably eventually slip on.. .

Any help?? should new pads fit that tightly against the rotor that it doesnt spin at all?? Any help is appreciated!!

Inspect the sliding pins to make sure they haven't seized and re-grease them with a good high temp grease while you are there.

I haven't had to deal with stuck sliding pin yet. They should move smoothly in/out to allow for pad wear (since the calipers only have pistons on one side).
