Default Squeaky rear end

While normal driving my rear end sqeuaks a bit, would this be the cause of bad shocks or something else?

My ss does the same thing. Pretty much all it is is the springs. You could try greasing them but i don't know if that'll work. I haven't tried it on mine. I usually turn the radio up to drown out the noise! ha. Hope i helped.

I have a loud, high-pitched squeak from the passenger side rear as well. Not sure what it is, whether it is something inside the car or outside.

you could be having a break problem if it's all the time, and really high pitched...

I thought it was my shocks as well. I replaced my rears with some koni shocks and I still have the same noise when I go over a speed bump. I've read a couple of "what's this squeak" threads and they all seem to be attributed to different components. From the simplest fix (greasing bushings) to others that are a little more involved, they are not all the same.

My Z28 used to do that too. Ended up being a worn PHB bushing (not stock).

Nah it only squeaks when I hit certain bumps.

Found it I think tonight, something in my T-top latch. I pulled the handle slightly to put a little pressure on it (locked so it can't open) and it seems the squeaking stopped. Stupid me can't remember whether I heard the squeaking with the t-tops off or not.

Oh, and btw, it is brake, not break - you don't want brakes breaking

do you have a stock rear end or performance suspension parts with poly ends?

Factory suspension parts usually do not sqeek but aftermarket poly parts require periodic greese lube.

i would say use white lithium grease on any parts where the springs touch the frame. contact points basically. hope doing that helps you out!

I'll join this club, my rear drivers side squeaks when cold. I think its the spring, so I'm gonna try to grease it a little bit.

My passengers side rear end of the car makes a very loud squeaking sound when its cold outside. Also does it almost every time i take a turn and punch it. Have no idea what it is.

my *** squeaks too It's done it when its around 50 degrees out since I bought the car new. I never have looked into it since I usually don't drive the car in the winter. I think it's just the bushings and a little grease will probably fix it.

I drive it weekends and in the cold as long as there is no salt on the ground.
But that damn squeak in the rear is driving me nuts

When I have a squeak, I open the rear hatch and stand in the trunk, then make the car jump a little, to see if I can still hear it. From there, I determine if it's internal or external.

So far, it has always been external. In my cases, I've had squeaky:
1) lower control arm bushings (lubed to fix)
2) swaybar endlinks (lubed to fix)
3) panhard bar ends (lubed to fix)
4) springs (the rubber isolator wasn't centered quite right, so I had the spring scraping on the body)

Hope that helps.
