I'm a PTA. It is a great career to get into, you will always have work and its rewarding. I believe it requires a masters currently, but I think they are trying to make it doctorate degree.

Currently need a masters to be a PT/OT. Make good money when you finally get out of school. My sister in law recently graduated; lots of loans to pay off.

This is what I'm going to school for....

4 years to get your bachelors which you will become a PTA

Then another 2 years to get your Masters which you will become a PT

Then another 2 years to get your Doctorate which you will be a Doctor in PT

I got 4 more years to go lol but with this degree you will always have a job waiting for you!

4 years undergrad, 2 years PT school. She did her PT school at OU Tulsa. High demand. She just spent the last year traveling around doing short term contracts. High pay and a living stipend, worked out well for them. They just moved back to Tulsa unexpectedly and she was able to generate 3 offers in a couple days.

You'll do fine.

College has much better teachers (profs) than high school. You'll have a much better chance of passing because you'll have study groups, teachers aids, internet, library, friends. Use your resources and stay focused and you'll be fine.

lol You just have to listen to the lectures then go home and rewrite your notes. Chemistry is actually fun to do but I know it is hard for many people. Just find a tutor to help you on the stuff that you don't understand.

It is very competetive out there. Keep your grades up throughout college. Getting into the PT programs the hardest part. If your GPA is below 3.5 your chances are going to very slim. When I looked into the PT program at UTMB, I don't believe they were accepting anyone under a 3.7 GPA. Good luck to you.

Chemistry was very difficult for my wife in high school, but something clicked. She is finishing her PhD in Chem this year. Just tough it out and pass it. You won't use it in your day to day job, but the understanding is important for the coursework.

PSHHH, why go to school for 4 years when you can do it in 2????

Move to Ft Worth and go thru Tarrant County College. They do an associates for PTA (qualifies you to take the state exam for PTA upon completion), you can start there (CHEAPER) and work your way up. Screw that 4 year PTA crap.

Well, that is an easier route but I am already half way done lol Also, I am attending a University and enjoying it very much! Meet lots of new people and participate in many activities. Also, there is more of variety of females at a University then a community college

You chose the right and more well-rounded path.
