The ride and comfort are fantastic. I have ridden in every new full size but the Tundra, nothing gets close to the ride of the new GMs. My 08 was a 6.0, mileage sucked

My buddy has a stock crew cab 2wd truck with the 5.3 and those are about the numbers his gets. Absolutely one of the nicest, most comfortable trucks ive ever been in. OH and Stabilitrak is AWESOME! There is no comparison between the new chevy vs. ford and dodge. Chevy has it figured out imo.

Im not sure if im really any help here. I dont exactly calculate mpg but i do enjoy the ride quality before and after the lift. Ive rode in past chevy trucks and i would have to say this is alot better than other trucks.

I have a 07 Silverado Z71 and only If you stay under 55-60 mph.... I got 14-16 mpg on road trips going 70mph+, the truck always stays in V8 mode until you start on a downhill then it goes into V4 and MPG goes up till it goes back into V8 mode again.

anything has got to be better than the colorado. these trucks are such a joke. it doesn't do anything well. I'm waiting on this one to just burst into flames. its had so much go wrong w/ it, nothing would surprise me.
I really liked the 07 crew cab i borrowed from a friend a while back. seemed to get decent mileage. it had some strange features that annoyed me like if you bump the turn signal to change lanes it would keep clicking after you released it.

definately one of gms epic failures. dunno what i was thinking when i bought it. but i started hating it about 6 months after owning it. guess at the time of purchase when gas had shot up to 2.35 a gallon i thought it would be a gas saver. lol never been so wrong about anything. small trucks are worse than fullsizes at that point.

A good tune will change that - especial if they know what they are doing with the 4cyl mod tables. You can get 19-21 on the highway at 70-75.

I bumped up the shift times and took out some TQ managment, which it responded better. But, I actually just put it back to stock tranny settings as it got squirly alot easier with the winter weather.... You have any epxperience with the those tables? It seems that if you stick your hand out the window it drops back into V8 mode.

I haven't but my tuner down here (Patrick G) has modified these tables in several Tahoe/suburbans and a G8. He has posted threads on the outcomes on the site.

Not sure you can change them with Hp tuners.

Do you have a 6.0 or something?
Hell, even my mom's '01 Suburban 5.3L when pulling a 8k lb trailer could get 14mpg highway.

Start by raising your TPS Max in the Displacement On Demand General to 15-20% instead of the stock 6%.

Then lower your enable vacuum thresholds about 10 kpa across the board and lower your disable vacuum thresholds about 4 kpa from 700 to 1200 rpms and then just lower 1 kpa across the board after 1200 rpms.

After that your going to want to throw some timing into the DoD hi/low tables to give the 4 cyl. mode a little more pep to be able to maintain 4 cyl. mode with the new settings. But scan for knock when changing the spark and I wouldn't mess with the spark under 800 rpms.

Hope this gets you started.
