what handgun to get?
Im looking for a CHEAP and ACCURATE and RELIABLE handgun. Prefferably mid to full size frame. with either 9mm, 40s&w, or 45acp ammo. Im not sure what would be a good choice. Let me know what brand and where i can get it... I was hoping not to spend more than 600 with tax.... This pistol will be meant for home defence and target shooting. My friend wants me to get the judge.lol THanks

Can't go wring with s SigPro, you can find a used one for around that price. Otherwise although I wouldn't admit this around my friends...Glocks are good guns. I have shot several of them as well as hunted with them as backup side arms. For 600 I would recomend buying a shotgun and a used gun for that price. If you have no guns what so ever.
The shotgun will be great for the house and carry the gun in your trunk or luggage when driveing around.

After seeing and answering a bunch of these threads here, I have to ask one of my own; Why on hell's creation would a guy start a thread asking about handguns on a site for LS1 engines?
Hit up WarRifles.com. Those guys will tell you ANYTHING you would want to know about ANY firearm ever made.. and a few they shouldn't know about. lol

The judge is a great choice for home defense if you are dead set on being stubborn and get a handgun for that.
A shotgun is a million times better than a handgun for home defense. Period. For fun I like 1911, my .357 mag colt king cobra, or any decent 9mm.
I don't care for shooting glocks, just saying before that inevitably comes up...

I have a Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm. It is a great gun for a great price. I bought it because IMO it has one of the most comfortable grips of any gun made. You should check it out...you can get it pretty cheap ($380 around here) at Academy.

what do yall know about that beretta px4? Does anyone know about them and would they be a good balance of price and performance? I think they retail for like 650 with tax. I would rather get a used p220 but dont know of anyplace that would have one used in houston. If anyone knows of anyplace that would have one let me know.

I just posted this question a few weeks ago and it ended up being 5 or 6 pages long.
You might look it up and see if it helps you. There was a lot of pointless chatter, but a lot of helpful stuff as well. The only difference is that I was looking for a conceal carry weapon more than anything.

Conceal Carry: Glock 26 with a great round (I like Federal Hydra Shok) 147 grain. It WILL stop an agressor.
