Has or had? Rick still holds the record at 8.0@174 with his 96 Formula but that car isn't an LT1 any more. I think Tony Shepherd will get it for fastest LT1 in Texas when his car makes a good clean pass. I have a lot of faith in him because one thing about him is, you can't knock him out. No matter what ever went wrong with that car, he always comes back at it stronger. If he ever goes turbo, I would say you have a strong runner for 7s, because he sticks with it and just dont give up. A unlikley surprise may come from who ever bought Dave Diluca's old Z28 if its still in Texas, that car was for sale on racingjunk baytown a while back and was running bottom 9s when Dave sold it many years ago when he worked for ARE. If who ever buys/bought it actually takes it to the track, I'm sure that thing would still run hard because it still has that same set up ready to go, just needs some one to make a pass in it. Chris Sikora (Chicago), is going for 7s and Madman has a purple twin turbo LT1 TA running mid 8s that I'm sure they'll try and go a lot faster with and i"m sure he's thinking of going 7s with it. Which is funny because the last car he had years ago that was a contender for the fastest LT1 was Dave Ducote's old purple blower Formula, some one on here bought that car from Ricky@NX, think it's a turbo gen I SBC now. Rick actually bought the 381 LT1 built by Patterson? a few years back. The LT1 scence isn't dead, Tony and Jason still want to knock out 8s and the turbo guys want 7s, we aint dead yet.
Edit: I'm sure broke dick never had **** will come in here and make fun of LT1s.

Fastransamlt1,
You got a black 383 Trans Am with a TH350, 9 inch, TNT kit? I remember one from HPE, wondering if it's the same car? I remember Fereday driving one out at HMP, car was running 6.40s, was suppose to run some El Camino that night, wasn't Jacob's red 383 LT1 Formula on gas.

that purple people eater you speak of from mad man is Omar's car, that thing is a street racer through and through. bought the old motor from him and still haven't done anything with it. thinking of selling the GTO and getting a truck so i can build a LT1 car capable of 9's in N/A form with the motor.

See the previous cars. Just having some fun with you.
I'm not setup for drag racing. I want to keep this car in one piece for now.

I remember Mike (InvisibleZ) talking about Omaher's car before it was a turbo car saying it was pretty nasty, now it's on a whole new level. Be really cool to see you put that motor in some thing and have some fun with it. Far as the guys on the internet go who bad mouth them, get off the keyboard and grab a lane.
Madman,
Must be kinda cool to have it back in the shop again seeing as you have a history with that car. I remember the old pics you had of it on your site with the Procharger on it and the perimeter bolt Pontiac valve covers.
Always thought it was a 383 for some reason, that thing ran it's *** off though on the bottle, both track and street. Just a simple set up that worked really well. Thats what I hope to duplicate with mine.
Joe still likes LT1s and nitrous, don't let the Z06 and A&A kit fool you.
