Default Is Amazon.com a legit place to buy from? What do you think of this TV?

I just recently purchase a TV for my father from Best Buy and now I'm looking to purchase a TV for myself. I have been looking for quite some time, just haven't pulled the trigger on one. I'm sure by the time I make a decision and make the purchase, it won't be long before something better comes out. But hey, that's just the way it goes.

Well, after viewing Sony's and Samsung's website to figure out which model I want, I usually do a Google search to check pricing. It seems like Amazon is always the 1st website to pop up and usually the least expensive.

Is Amazon.com a legit/reputable site to purchase from? Not only is their price the cheapest I've found, but no tax and free shipping.

Here's the TV I'm looking at:

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BRAVIA-KD.../dp/B0021LT066

What' do you guys/gals think of the TV? It's for my bedroom? I think that's a decent size TV for a bedroom and seems to have good specs on it. It also seems to be the top of the line Sony in a 46" besides the XBR8.

i have bought tons of stuff from amazon... great place to deal with and they ship fast too and most of the time it's free... i have also had really good luck through their vendors... i wouldn't hesitate to buy from them... i bought my tv from broadwayphoto because i got it for ALOT less than i could find it anywhere else by nearly a grand... i was sceptical but the experience was great and they use a private shipper so you know it won't get mishandled and they bring it in your house and set it up for you to make sure everything is ok before they leave... i just checked their site and with shipping it's the same price as amazon... sony's are nice tv's you can't go wrong... i'm partial to samsung tv's but sony was my 2nd choice... i have a 46" in my room too... at first it looks huge but you get used to it quick and now it looks small to me lol

DeerHunter_Z28, I had to ask. I've never purchased from them before. I thought it was a little too good to be true. Best prices, no tax, free shipping and always the 1st site to come up when doing a search.

neutron82, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah I figured that. I've learned that there's lots of sarcasm here on this board. I used to get so butt-hurt about everything then go into defense mode. It's all good though, 'preciate the info.

So what do you guys think about the TV for a bedroom? Specs?

i think that tv looks great... mine is only about a year and a half old and it looks like they have come along way in even that short period of time... have you seen one in person at a store?... i would do that first just to get a feel for it and compare it side by side to others... when i got mine 120hz was the ****... that one has 240hz! lol... and 100,000:1 contrast ratio is really good, the color should look awesome... i say if you like it go for it... as far as for a bedroom i think you should be fine as long as you aren't sitting a foot away from it lol

I buy stuff from amazon all the time. Just make sure it is sold by amazon not another vendor and your golden. I like their service and there return policy rocks. If you return something they pay the shipping back as well.

Sony and Samsung LCDs mostly use the same LCD panels (S-PVA made by Samsung). Some Sonys like the XBR may use another panel(I believe Sony was trying to work with Sharp for their top of the line XBRs), but otherwise the image quality should be similar for both. Sony and Samsung both use high quality electronics as well. Its been a while since I have checked out LCD HDTVs, but it might be worth buying one with a LED back light. LEDs provide more uniform light and will out last cold cathode fluorescent lamps.

I have the sony xbr6 in 52" and its a great tv. If I was in the market for a 46" right now I would go with the samsung led 8000 series.

I just used Amazon.com for the first time last week. I ordered my Wickhead cd (which rocks by the way!) from them and I must say the shipping was fast and cheap (I ordered mine on rush, though lol) and the cd was legit. Been jammin' out to it since Thursday

I'm definitely going to use them again. The IT guy at work swears by them, and I see other people in my department getting a lot of packages from the company as well. I'd say go for it!
