Default 80 T/A resto

I figured some of you guys would enjoy this.

So yeah, I was looking for another car to play with since I didn't have anything to spend my money on and fell in love with the looks of second gen T/A's, plus being 16 I can't get insurance on a newer SS or T/A. The insurance company literally said no. I am about 4 months in to the project, half that time it sat for body work though. I think I have $3000 into the car plus $2500 for the car itself.

So far:
Completely new brakes
Fresh paint
New interior
S/E Decal kit and hood bird
Rebuild transmission
bunch of little stuff

Enjoy the pictures...

Looking really good. You will definitely get your money back whenever you decide to sell.

man, that car looks great, especially with the new interior! and that rotor that you pulled off of there was FUCKED, LOL!! the only other one i ever saw that was in that kind of shape was when i worked at Firestone. this dude came in and said that it had been squealing for a while and now it's just pulling to the left. i put it on the lift and took it apart and it was pulling left because there was only half of a right front rotor left, hahahaha

Yeah that rotor was horrible, the other 3 weren't much better. They were only a millimeter away from breaking through to the center. I am glad I replaced everything, the car stops on a dime!

Next weekend I am going to wet sand the car and buff it, then the guy I bought the car from is going to help me put the decals on.

That's pretty awesome, for one it's great to see kids your age still in to classic cars. Keep up the good work.

NICE! Brings back memories. Two friends and I restored a 77 TA when we were 16.

Thanks guys, I can't wait for the transmission to be rebuilt Monday, I have never really been able to drive it since there was always something wrong with it but now it's finally all coming together. I was going WOT one time and the transmission slipped and fell flat on it's face and grinded to a halt. It's going to be nice having reverse also lol.

Yeah, I had it done there and it looks amazing. I work there so I have seen just about everything and yeah, there are good jobs and bad jobs. It really has mostly to do with the paint choices, some colors look good and some just look really cheap. Most spot jobs on newer cars look great but when people start painting there cars with out of the ordinary paint codes, that's when stuff starts looking like crap, just like that purple jeep in the back ground of one of the pictures.

They are the best for the price I have seen so far, the place up the road wanted $2900 or something to paint my camaro, main street quoted me like $800 before I worked there

Probably door panels and 17 inch snow flakes. I am not sure yet because I kinda want to sell it for an SS or WS6.

imo, i'd get those original wheels cleaned up/repainted if need be, and put some new high performance tires on with no white lettering. keep that car dude, you're so close to having it finished. its gonna look bad *** when its done.
