Selling the vette, what to buy next
If you had 50k to spend on a new car, which one would you get?
1. New base model vette (~50k). The GS is an option but it's 5k more than I want to spend, plus taxes.
2. New fully loaded 2SS camaro (~40k).
3. A shelby GT mustang (~50k).
4. Something else ??
I'm looking to buy my first new car (I've always bought used, and I'm on my 2nd vette) so those 3 stuck out at me.
I'm also thinking if I just wanted a nice daily driver, maybe I could get a 2010 mini cooper john cooper works (the 211hp turbo one). It ain't that fast (even my gtp would have taken it), but it's got a real nice interior and is brainless to drive. Those cost about $40k fully optioned. Then maybe keep the vette or trade it in and buy an f-body (maybe my first TA?) as a weekend car, even if I went over my budget a little.
So far the camaro seems to be the best choice.. the vette's nice but I'm kind of tired of driving it as a DD and I want something new.
Or is there anything cool on the horizon I don't know about? Should I wait? Am looking at 2-3 months timeframe.
thanks,

Go test drive'm and buy whatever makes you happy I have driven my buddies Gt 500, bolt-ons, pulley and tuned. The car is fun and fast, but god it feels like your steering the Queen Mary when compared to the vette. The damn thing is also very comfortable, nice ride for sure. The C6 are a lot more comfortable than our C5s, more of sport touring car now. I don't think you could go wrong with either. Mini's on the other hand remind me of clown cars, this is due in part to my cousin Jared whom is 6'5 having one. I laugh at the site of him getting in and out the mini

Thanks, yea I'll need to test drive'em and figure out which one I like best.
I'll have to try out a Grand Sport. I'll bet it's a lot like my z06 from what I hear. The 0-60 and 1/4 times look right on with the c5 z06, and it pulls a lateral g in the corners. I also really liked the targa when I had my a4 coupe a few years back, and the GS has that so that's a big plus. The launch / competitive drag mode also looks nice. It's just $$$ to pay depreciation on a brand new vette.
The camaro I've sat in one, and they're nice, but the roofline is just real low. Other than that they're real mean looking and nice.
As for the shelby, it's the most powerful of all of those and the best on mods (with the s/c from the factory), but I've never really been a Ford person. And since it's a mustang, I'm sure every ricer on the planet will be trying to race me off of a light.
Camaro seems like the logical choice. Not gonna break the bank, mods well, looks nice, stands out..

Get a boat, ****** love boats, and you'll be the only guy on your street driving a boat to work.
Can't beat that...
Unless you get a hovercraft or a hot air ballon. Nothin says ballin like 15 naked bitches in a hot air ballon.

Get whatever you like best. Normally I would say a used C6 Z06, but that's not much different than what you have.
I'm not a Ford guy either, but I'm not fond of the new Camaro (but I don't really like the looks of the GT500 either). I'd either go with a Mustang GT 5.0 or the new GT350. A 2SS would be next on my list though...
