Default Is my starter going out?

For about a month now, whenever I try and start my car, I hear a single click. Sometimes when I hold the key in the "Start" position after the click for about 10 seconds, it will start. (usually not). USUALLY, I have to turn the key into "start" a lot of times rapid fire to get my car to start, each time there is one click.

What does this sound like?

Also, I know it's not my battery, because everything electric in my car comes on such as the radio, lights, ect.

Could be your starter, have you put a meter on the battery, starter, alternator? Starter could be worn, but the alternator could be weak and there might be too many amps drawn at start. Do you have any additional parts that are electrical that could be drawing extra current?

Get the battery checked 1st, just because everything works does not mean it is getting 12 volts

Does your volt gauge drop when you try to start it? If not its a relay.

Yes it could be your battery. I had a bad terminal and did not realize it everything worked in the car, but starter was not spining fast and the fuel pump was not priming to proper psi. Fixed the terminals and I was good to go. not saying its not your starter but check this out. Autozone checks this for free,

My F150 had a problem that showed up off and on, ended up being a wire to the starter had the insulation worn down and grounding out a bit.
