With ford stepping their game up I WANT TO SEE GM's response. They never let me down. Mustang.. Birth of the LS1.. Viper.. Birth of the LS7, 5.0L... sure there is the LS3 but its not like GM to sit still so the birth of the new ..X?


I drive a mustang and am a mustang love but I am a GM fanboy. Like them more than ford. I really miss my old camaro sometimes!!

looks like another stang with body kit, wheels and decals to me. im sure its powerful, quick and such. meh

mustangs had nothing to do with the birth of the LS1.
ls1 was created for other reasons than to deal with 2v mod motor mustang of the time.

I somewhat agree that the Camaro isn't very competitive against the 5.0 Mustang on the track. However, the most important statistic is the sales numbers. I don't know the exact numbers but the Camaro and Mustang sales are damn close to each other.

The reason why GM killed the f-body was because of poor sales. Sure the LS1s performance beat the living **** out of the Mustang, but the LS1s didn't sell. The only reason why GM brought back the Camaro was to make a profit, not beat on Mustangs. The Mustang had no competition since 2002 and Ford was getting away with murder. They were selling Mustangs with POS motors, excluding SVT motors, and claiming them as "sportscars", but Ford sold tons of them. 2003-2009 Mustangs = Easy money.

Once Ford heard the Camaro was greenlighted, they knew they had to do something. They didn't know what GM was going to do, but Team Mustang was scared shitless. "What if Chevy drops in a LS3 or a LS7 in a 3300 lbs Camaro?" "****, we could do some math for once to beat these guys and we can't use a blower this time" You all know Ford was tired of getting their *** handed to them by the LS-Series, once again excluding expensive SVT products, so they engineered the bad *** 5.0. Ford is doing everything in their power to keep the Mustang top dog. The Mustang is Ford's image. The 5.0 Mustang is a bad *** performing car, but it doesn't the sex appeal or want to have factor as a Camaro. Seriously, a couple of days ago I saw a hot blonde girl getting out of a white V6 Camaro and I almost nutted my pants.

The Camaro still wins in my book because of the sales and marketing success. I can't wait for the Gen V GM V8s. Ford's *** is going to raw.

Well I have heard GM is gonna come out with a List of high performance items like intakes, headers, to superchargers that will be covered under warranty like the Cobalt SS had that GM dealers would install without loss of factory warranties. So all this competition is great for GM fans aswell as Ford fans

Ford has really impressed with the 5.0 mill and has managed to keep the pork off the platform as well..

I like the fact that ford has a mid level performance model, 5.0 GT, 302 Boss, and then the GT500...more selection choice. GM has Auto SS or Manuel SS

Any time ford has introduced something above GM these threads show up. I still remember when the termis. came out, and there was a "GM is slacking" thread posted every day. Hell I had my lightning then, as I am not partial to GM or Ford. I basically enjoy both, I just havn't liked the mustangs since the whole throw back theme started.

Both cars have strong points, just name your poison and buy one. Griping about 25-30 more hp is pointless.

GM already has the Z28 in the mix, with the soon to be introduction of the Gen V small block that will be a 6.2 liter direct injection which has been rumored to push upwards of 500 hp. I highly doubt they are just sitting on their thumb.

If I were to buy a ford any time soon, it would be a 6.2 Raptor not a mustang.

I work at one of Ford's remote offices here in Frisco so I've seen some of their guys show up in the GT500 or the Raptor - both look and sound pretty nice.

Love the raptor. Just wish they offered a 2wd prerunner.
