Default Reputable brake repair shops in Houston area...

Just looking to check out an issue I'm having with my ABS. ABS inop light is on, and LOW TRAC light will blink occasionally. I need to have the brakes bled and see if anything has crapped out...

I don't have the space/tools/time to get this done myself, so where is a good place to start? I worry about taking my car anywhere, so suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A lot of us have the same problem. Check your front two abs sensor wires. Your headers may have melted them at some point. That's what happened to me.

That's what I thought it was as well, but I can feel it in the pedal. It's not nearly as firm as it was before, so I thought it might be a bigger issue.

If it's spongy or feels like it locks up, that's what mine did. Sometimes it would be totally stiff, and other times it would be really spongy like my abs was kicking in.

Damn, well I have no means of getting it up with a jack right now to check things out. Go figure my bf left back to school the day that it started messing up. The jack, stands, and tools are all at his house and his driveway is currently occupied.

That's why I was looking for someone else to help me LOL

Nah, her bf seemed cool for the brief time I met him. I don't know many brake specialists on the north side of town, only down here... With ABS it sucks, because there are SO many factors it could be, and you might spend some serious money finding out what it is. I had 3 different shops tell me 3 different reasons as to why my abs was acting up. All of which were over $800 to fix.

I decided to get up under there myself, and all it cost me was some time rerouting the new wires and some heat wrap.

Yeah that's what I want to avoid -spending a bunch of money on these fools who THINK they know what's wrong with my car. I'm DD'ing a little Corolla for now Finally letting the "race car" take a break from driving all over Houston. I guess that means I better wait until I can take a look at it myself to make sure it's nothing menial.

And Jerry, HUSH - you know you love Matt

Good luck Mufasa. Hope it turns out OK. Glad you have a daily driver now and the SS is now for joy rides only.

Thanks Patrick! I actually got to park it in my garage and everything Gotta get it ready for racing season...

No, Robert. Y'all are definitely not those "fools". I just wish you were closer! It sucks having car problems when you're from NW Houston but are driving between Conroe/Woodlands and Clear Lake. Talk about frustrating!

Evin, I'll see ya Thursday probably...
