Angry Friday night, what a night

Me and some friends went to Hooters in Denton friday night. I parked towards the back of the parking lot. We went inside, sat down, and our waitress came over to get our drink order. She was being rude and sorta bitchy to us, so as soon as we placed our order we all decided we did not want to eat there, and got up and left. We walked outside and I saw an SUV speeding away from my car, got close to my car and saw this.

It's not too bad, just kind of pisses me off since I just painted the car a little less than 2 months ago. I called Hooters Monday, and they said they had cameras in the parking lot and the manager would get back to me.

After leaving there, we went to Twin Peaks in Lewisville. On the way home, I heard what sounded like one of my rockers coming loose. Pulled off the highway, pulled the valve cover, and sure enough one had came loose. I went to adjust it, loosened the set screw out, started the car, and went to adjust it, and this happened.

Has anybody seen a polylock shear in half like that before? Should I continue to try and get information from Hooters, or do you think they could try and say we walked on our tab when we had just ordered drinks and walked out immediately after, without ever receiving our drinks?

Just call your insurance. Hit and run. Hooters probably isn't liable for damage in the lot. Most places have a sign posted stating this.

I figured they are probably not liable, I contacted them trying to get the plate for the SUV. Also, I have liability only on the car...

The poly lock broke because either the Set screw/poly lock was too tight or you have valve train issues.

It had been set for about a year, and suddenly came loose. What kind of issues could cause this? If it was too tight, could the stress have finally just caused the polylock to tear apart?
