NASA Workers come inside!!

How many of you are like this guy below??

31 years of working for a company and they just let him go.

I think this is such BS that they have laid so many of you off.

I won't say what I want to about our no-brain Commander in Chief. He seems to have a major problem with oil companies and NASA. The stupid mother ****** is killing the greater Houston economy with his egotistical bullshit.

Oops. Some slipped out. I don't care.

Check out my avatar. I love rainbows.

I was an intern there during my senior year of high school, then worked there right after graduation. I was there just over 2 years and was let go. Not nearly as bad as that guy, but it still sucked.

When was your last day...today?? And yes it does still suck even if you worked there for just 2 years.

No, I was layed off right around the beginning of '09. Some of my coworkers that had been with nasa for 20+ years met the same fate though. I remember when obama won the presidency, a lot of employees at nasa started stressing out because they knew we were in trouble. Sure enough...

One of my buddy's mom is a designer for USA SpaceOps and is the only drafter left on her team that once had over 20. She said that they are stretching work as long as they possibly can but it doesn't look promising.

I have worked there for 11 years now. I worked for Cimarron/boeing. now barrios won that contract with boeing and i switched to them. just a badge change was all. today was my 1st days at barrios. but i work on station so our contract is good for another 5 years and they are working on getting it extended to 2020.

we had a guy act a little crazy 2 days ago and the nasa cops escorted him out.

I'm sorry to hear all the bad news and..... about people getting let go after so much hard work that they have done for us.

2002Z06 So your dad was one of the many that went today.. Did they have any kind of package deal for workers that have been there so long??

I agree with you 100% Ross.

He's preaching about how important education is for the future of America, but kill NASA???? Little kids can't dream about becoming educated astronauts anymore.....

Does he not realize the importance of NASA research??? How many problems did NASA solve??? Look what NASA did for America during the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. And so on....

Cutting budget for NASA is stupidest thing a President can do. A real President would increase the NASA budget.

"To improve life here, to extend life to there, to find life beyond." Thats NASA's mission statement. Why slowly kill a government program that wants to do good for not just America, but the whole entire planet. **** that guy.

Don't ban me. I'm sorry, but not really...

I don't work for NASA, but I do work for DOE and once Obama came it, we all held our breath.

Good points about the NASA program above.

Instead of doing this, how about $ being saved by NOT giving welfare money to people on drugs?

It said he doesn't know how to put 31 years into 1 sentence. I can. "I worked on the M--F---ing Space shuttle!

Does suck though. There are a lot of people losing their long term jobs. I'm not worried so much about the young guys like, as we can get jobs doing just about anything depending on the lifestlye. It's the guys like him that are over 50, been doing the same thing for all that time and now they are let go. With nothing to compare to what they were making. Some people only have a few more years until retirement and now their plans are screwed to hell. Almost any job they go to, they'll be overqualified or out of the loop.

Man, every time I hear about this I get furious. I cannot fathom why a president would shut down one of the ONLY programs that has an actual purpose beyond politics and money.

So I guess we are going to let the Chinese surpass us in EVERY aspect now? Maybe even order our future shuttles from them? Well that's if we ever get a budget to fly again... lol

I started with Lockheed in June of 93. Got laid off when they lost the contract to Jacobs (I work for Jacobs now) in feb of 05. Still out here. Thanks to a union, I have 25 more people below me to get laid off before I do. We lost 14 just in 2 buildings in our dept last thursday.

Because that would mean our President would have to do something to help our economy, and not help his supporters that dropped out of school in 8th grade and had **** loads of kids.... Or his supporters who sell drugs to kids and collect his welfare money. I was at a party a couple of years ago because he was elected, and this white kid who thought he was a straight up gangster was preaching about Obama. I asked him why he wanted to vote for him, and he told me that Obama was going to make weed legal, and that was his only reason...
