My old job… working in the metal build systems industry. We made all the parts to build them.
List of Co-Worker and what happen to them.
One lost his Leg jogging a piece of metal through the machine as he was standing right in front of it. (Dumbass)
One of my good friends had his thumbs crushed to the point where it was clear. This happen when he was holding some metal that had to be held against a press to bend. As he was holding it his grip slipped right before it came down .The operator of the machine was tired of the kick stop getting triggered so he disable it so when this happen he couldn’t stop it and had to be done manually. After everything was done with surgery he still was able to use his thumbs.
One of my co-workers on the night shift with me.. lost 3 of his finger in a roller... I was just about to put my hands in to get these 2 inch plates when he said he would get them. I had to rush him to the hospital very bloody. After taking him to the hospital they asked for his fingers so I drove back to find out my boss was already back to work. I asked him did he get the fingers out he said no he didn’t lose them ( I was pissed turn off the machine and found them put them back on ice and took them back)They told him it would take 6 to 8 weeks for this to heal …. He went back and the F-ing hospital didn’t put them on or sew them up. He sued the hospital and won a **** ton of money. He never came back to work after this.
I had another co- worker lose his life from falling from the crane up top doing some repairs to it.
Another co-worker was working on an Air conditioner on top of the office inside of our warehouse and had a big fuse pop and sent him flying burned about ¾ of his face… He was the father-in-law of the son that had his thumbs crushed in the press.
Another co worker had his foot crush by a metal coil that fell over on him..
I have more but you see how bad not paying attention is.
This was all from the same company.
