Default Data logging help in San Antonio

I have an issue with my car where I loose 4th gear after a few minutes of driving and I don't know why. What I really need is someone who has the capabilities data logging my car or even being able to command things on and off while driving like HP tunners or EFI Live. Hell, a Tech 2 would work.

My only issue is that I can't drive too far to get there in 3rd. My tuner is on 35N and I live off Potranco and 1604 on the opposite side of town. Is there anyone close to me that can please help? I've been trying to figure this crap out for almost 3 weeks now and it's really getting old not being able to "drive" my car. Thanks. Alex.

Alex - have you tried calling Nelson Performance? PatrickG said good things about them when he was tuning my car, and when I was telling him about my shitty experiences with the other tuners in SA.

I bit the bullett this morning and took it to a dealership. They were able to tell me that there were no codes in the PCM for the transmission. This means what is happening here is not electrical of any kind. Rather it's hydraulic or mechanical.

Short version, its loosing pressure and going away. I may still need to see if its being commanded off and can command it back on via computer but I think the trans I just bought will need to be gone through.

just get ahold of the guy you bought the tranny from and do the swap already. quit worrying about why its not working. swap over to a M6 get what u really want and be happy.

its turning out to be more of a headache then its worth to keep screwing with the trans....

no one has hp tuners here intown and those that due are extremly hard to get a hold of

depends on what your goal is.

Bird, alex's car is stock with the exception of headers and full exhaust/no cats and a "built" transmission and a stall. I forget the stall speed tho. If that helps.

Its a Dacco 10" 2300-2800 stall. Other than a K&N filter, headers, ORY, and cat back, its stock.

Is it dropping out of 4th or maybe just unlocking the torque converter - with a looser torque converter, it may be seeing false misfire readings and unlocking the converter.

Also - what year is it?

I have the unlimited Year/model credit for the 2000 Fbody. I'm going to make even more of an effort to find all my hardware. its been a while since I messed with tuners.

Yes, its a 2000. I had it tuned for the stall, had the emmisions turned off, calibrated for the gear change, and he took some random misfire stuff out since I mentioned I was thinking about a cam.

It's not unlocking the converter, its actually losing 4th. It will lock up in 3rd but 4th just goes into hyperspace somewhere.

Bigdave just purchased Hp Tuners.

Why not just use his free scanner software to log (capture data from vehicle) your issue?

He can also save and post your tune file here for review.

My recommend would be if issue is trans. related you want username Russ K on Hp Tuners Forum working a solution.

UPDATE! Appears Bigdave is working on a solution for you on Hp Tuners Forum as well.

Those who freely post (HPT Forum) rarely help resolve an issue without a copy of the tune/log of the issue using the scanner software.

EDIT: My apologies. Saw thread below. I'm now fully up to date. Hope you find a local solution.
