That is a Juvenile Texas Rat Snake...Non venomous but can be aggressive! lol

You might hear it called a chicken snake by some farmers. I used to clean those and bull snakes out of the chicken coupes and barns where they would eat our eggs...ask me how i know they are aggressive! lol. They tend to curl up and will also lunge at you when threatened. They will bite and WILL draw blood but are harmless besides their bad table manners. In the end its still a damn snake, I hate them! The biggest I have personally caught was well over 6ft or so. It was as thick as my wrist and VERY strong.

Not sure where ur from but copperheads can get in the 3' range an moccasins longer. Just usually the moccasin is more stumpy tailed.

Definitely not a venomous snake, head shape and coloring give it away. Keep it around the shop, I guarantee you won't have a rat problem, that's better than having a cat!!
